I was born and raised in CA and left when I was 32, I’m 48 now. I currently live in Michigan and will be moving to TN next year. CA has always been expensive, when I lived there the migration was to the north to OR, WA and ID. Unfortunately they’ve become too expensive to live in as well among other issues. It seems to me the migration pivot to the east began mostly since Covid.

The Golden State is huge , its easy to pick SF of all cities to comp pricing to look better. Well known it is the most expensive in California. Leave California figure out why people want to live in this state after the fact. GOOD Luck affording to come back...lol
