I have some clues that might help. 1. The song was recorded of a tv that is only available in pal regions (because of the 15.734 khz pilot tone). 2. The songs vocalists obviously has an accent. I can't place excactly which country, but if I would guess it would be Japan, Korea, or Spain. 3. The song has a double clap sound that was from the linn LM-2. But many drum kits nowadays, have that same sound because it sounds retro. This is a bit suspicious. 4. Because of the linn LM-2 sounds in the song, it would have to have been recorded from 1982 to 1999. 5000 units of the LM-2 where sold. (Try contacting Japanese, Korean, and Spanish record labels to see if they have, or had an LM-2.) But say for example, they say "no we don't have an LM-2, but we did have an LM-1." This will simply not work. The LM-1s clap is different.

This song makes me realize how many more lost media and music is out there, seemingly unknown to mant just waiting to be found. With that being said this song sounds so familiar but foreign at the same time it adds to the mystique and the fact its been 3 years since its reveal on the internet and nothing has materialized adds to this mysterious feeling. it's kinda eerie because we still dont know anything about it yet it sounds like something you'd hear in the radio in the 80s.

Some have said it might be my old band, Times Two...but it's not. However, It sounds like a song written by Michael Price and Bobby Sandstrom in the 80's. I was in a crappy boy band called Times Two, and we were forced to record the song, that I'll link here. We tried to copy the sound of whoever sang the demo for the aforementioned songwriters. To me, it sounds like the singers that I heard on the demo. It's just a wild guess. Here's our 1988 recorded imitation of that sound. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/e2PQXniandGlntE&pp=ygUXMyBpbnRvIDIgdGltZXMgdHdvIDE5ODg%3D

I've been listening to it all week; I love the album X2, and I love Times Two. You guys rocked it. I've read the story on the back of the booklet, and I am so glad you and Shanti Jones had a hit in "Strange But True". Both of you are forever able to say you reached the Billboard Hot 100. You two are legends! To paraphrase the end of the booklet, you two really did make history. Thank you both for making such wonderful music and sharing your collective story on the booklet. Ciao, This song was written by an Italian band in the late 80s, it then caught a bit of popularity in Spain. I can’t recall the name, though this clearly played on Italian radio. The end of the song had a cool acoustic sound to it which wasn’t common for the time.

Yeah honestly there’s a solid chance the person who made this might not really care about it anymore, either bc it was a commercial project or bc they gave up on a music career a long time ago. There's actually quite a few songs that the internet can't find anymore... even some that had been fully put up on the internet. People think that everything on the internet is permanent, and that there's nothing on there that will be forgotten. But the truth is... so long as the people forget, and archives get lost in the transitions of new internet formats: Nothing on the internet is permanent. And all of it can be forgotten. So even your 15 minutes of fame (or rather: 12 seconds of infamy)? People will forget. Honestly, there's an image I've been searching for for months now that just somehow vanished from Google Searches. It's strange since it had existed during the early years of Tumblr, a time when everything felt cemented on the internet... But now, poof, it's just gone. This song, however, is just the oldest searched-out song in terms of people STILL actually trying to find it. There's likely dozens of other song-searches that are older, but no longer looked-for.

I track down a lot of deep roots and reggae and yes there are many songs on the internet that shazam can't identify. Thanks to a comment I read, I think I found a bit of "sense" in the song. I feel that this is a person who hides the truth about himself. Well, he lives in a world of lies, trapped there. Because this person hides or disguises his shame. So, the person who sings "Tell me the truth" wants him to tell the truth, because his movements show or give it away. (Or also in the part that says that everyone knows about his ulterior motives, could it be that he doesn't disguise or hide well?) What do you think? :D (I used Google translate, if something I wrote is wrong, please excuse me)
