If the collective really wanted Pollux's and if the Nexus Key was possibly there then they wouldn't blast the moon. Okay, so the collective has spies everywhere but It sounds like Pollux of their ship has a tracking device. The other thing is how can a rescue pod travel as far as it has and it maybe has an FTL drive. Makes no sense.
