I think it's an unwritten law, you have to politely refused to let them pay but you if you get so much freebies it's better to just put the money in their pockets. In my village, there's a stall old lady always gave free food to the kids that walk to school. So the adults that bought breakfast would pay for the kids eventhough it's not their child. I think that's what makes us such a harmony and beautiful culture
