Everyone's Responsibility: Preventing Abuse Against People with Disabilities

Very few people go into disability services because they want to be confronted with abuse. We don't want to believe anyone we care about is experiencing abuse. It's even harder to accept that someone we know and like might be perpetrating abuse against people with disabilities. Every major study has found that people with disabilities are more likely to be abused than people without disabilities. Denying abuse doesn't make it go away. We all have to be proactive.
