Great story, but tbh the Krynnians should have been held accountable for their actions. It eventually was agreed by the council for the humans to try and reach out and help it. There most likely would have been footage to prove Voss was getting through to it. Her and Riker were not accountable for the unnecessary deaths, the Krynnians were, for their violent interference. A part two to this story would have been great... For the crew of the SS Valiant to discover who was behind the beast's twisted creation. For example, how Wolverine/Logan went about discovering what had been done to him by Riker!!

How did the Beast move from system to system without being seen as sentient? Whatever the galactic council thinks they are, one thing remains clear....they are stupid. Many small details need to be "filled in" to make this a story worth finishing.
