What's the deal with the audio issues in the last few videos?

We have had some problems with the mice lately, a new one is on the way! Sorry.

@@Thisissoul No need to apologize, I've had rodent problems before too. At least they are not rats. Also, are crash pants more for aggressive skating? I skate freestyle/urban and the cons would seem to outweigh the pros for me.

Problem with falling techniques is if you want to practice it you can do it all nice and safe, but say you are skating at high speed and something happens to your leg/wheel/whatever. Now you are out of balance and flying towards the ground at a speed where you have split second to react or not at all. You are on the ground, bruised and you dont even remember how you fell not to mention have time to think about any falling techniques. I think protection works best for that kind of scenarios - you are suddenly off balance and have no physical ways or even time left to affect your falling.

I agree - the worst crashes I've had are when skating backwards or rotating where the chance to fall with technique isn't always possible. Trusting my pads to take the blow has allowed me to continue to skate on afterwards.

I just got the Tirpple 8 long crash pads from Amazon this week. Total game changer for an old blader who's getting back into it after a 6/7 year hiatus. Yeah safety gear is highly important for me and would suggest for anyone new or getting back into blading to invest in quality protective gear.

I bought the Powerslide standard for training parallel slides and starting agressive... But I always fell in between the pads 😅 But these are a nice mental help, because you're not distracted by the thought of falling, you can focus completely on stuff and thus falling less 😂 like placebo protection 👍🏻

Exceptional explanation Ivo, when speedskating like marathon distances I don't use any, but when freeriding online skates I usually use some motorcycle grade crashpads on most places mentioned along other protection. Think a good crashpant is better though!!

G-form has a pant model with tail bone protection included. I have one. Once you try it, you probably won't sell anything else. It's so comfortable that you can wear it all the time.

I found those protective shorts useful when learning skating backwards and all kind of jumps. This way it hurts less. 🙂

I have some of the power slide crash pants. I wear them under a speed skating suit with no issue other than extra sweating in the area they cover.

I used to wear football shin guards on sides of my hips for extra safety when falling, feels really nice and safe

I might get some, I fell bad on my tailbone, straight onto metal coping.. Didnt feel right for 1 month. Its rare and probably not worth it, also they are bulky. I really wonder if they can prevent multiple injuries though.

It might look a little silly wearing an adult skate diaper, but crashpants have saved my butt more times than I can count since I got back on my skates. 90% of my skating these days is done at my local concrete park and taking repeated falls to the hips on quarters/miniramp while learning to skate coping, my crashpants have allowed me to keep going and just slide out where otherwise I would have been done. Last weekend I hit my hip joint on the coping twice so hard that even with the pads I now have swelling and bruising on my hip that makes it look like a purple 3rd buttcheek and ithurts like hell, but I was at least able to walk back to my car and drive home. If I hadn't have worn my pads theres a good chance I would not have walked away and been able to go to work monday morning.

I keep seeying people advise tortoise pads for chrash pants on reddit but i've seen your podcast about anui and im contemplating getting those when i get into agressive skating.

Problem with protection parts is that online shops like yours rarely have M/L sizes in stock all of the time, especially not during skating seasson. Countries like mine charge fixed freight forwarding tax of 70$ no matter the order value, on top of vat and customs tax. So to dampen the impact of it I do only larger orders, but then often you end up not being able to get part you wanted in size you need it in.
