I tried to explain this my math teacher because she marked one of answers wrong on a test for this. She wasn't getting it, so asked if I could show her a video on it. I found this one.

@@TechilaIndia Oh this happened a while ago. I happened to come across the video again so I don't forget shit over the summer. I definitely got it right though. I don't remember the score, it wasn't written. She liked to use scantrons, so while she had the scores, we as students calculated them ourselves. However, I never did. I'm not surprised she didn't *already* know this with her "degree" and all, because I had switched schools and this school in particular has a terrible curriculum and it shows. Yikes.

Nice job. We required more videos like this type to explain some basic mathematics concept clearly.

Do you have a video that talks more about the natural logarithm, or "ln"? My professor prefers LN but has only talked about it in terms of memorizing formulas and steps, nothing about what it actually means or why.

Log10 to power of 1 + Log10 to power of 2 makes more sense. Then you get 10to power of 3.

I thought this could be without a calculator. How did he get the 1.1055 and 0.7924, or is it necessary to use calculator
@TechilaIndia6 жыл бұрын
Hi asheyblack, it's kind of ironic that you have to use log tables to get those values today when digital calculators are more accessible. However, this was a meaningful approach earlier when people didn't have calculators and large multiplication and division problems were made easier by the use of log tables. Even today it is important in some high school grades to know how to use log tables and solve problems without a calculator.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHOWkHWbqtB1eM0 this video shows the history of Logs and may help explain where those numbers are coming from. It took someone a long time to create the log tables in order for people to easily carry out the more difficult calculations.

This seems to be all about how to use logarithms. I was hoping to learn what they ARE.
