@@ritalush5792 yes, bad video, the idea is, you load the sample colour, then switch to say, brush tool, then paint with that colour

option delete on a mac will fill any selection with the chosen color (it is the keyboard shortcut for a paintbucket tool)

Great video as always but you did not mention the most important feature ...that you can colour sampling outside Photoshop by clicking and hold within your photoshop document and dragging the Eyedropper tool outside your Photoshop document and sample any colour from your desktop or browser .

Nice vid. Just to add to the shortcuts : if you want to remove a color sample on your image, just hover it, hold down shift+opt (mac) / shift+alt (pc) keys (your cursor will change to scissors) and click! That's it! Keep up the good work ;)

101 by 101 is not 101 pixels, but is a radius of half of that number from the point you select, beside this great video.

There is a check box in the control bar for the Eyedropper labeled "Show Sampling Ring" maybe that is getting ticked off?

Great tut, but I am having one problem. lets say that i am using a brush and i hold alt for the eyedrop tool. before it used to sample colors for the foreground. now it keep selecting background colors, and it always throw me off when im painting. how do i go about changing the setting where when i hold alt (while using a different tool) it samples the forground and not background?

Really informative, just what I needed! What if you have a white background with a dark blue box, and you set the opacity for the box at 10%. Is it possible somehow sample exactly that shade of now lighter blue (without rasterizing the whole thing)? I have tried different methods but only get the original dark blue, even with opacity at 10%.

+Nemir Chaudhry Make sure the Eyedropper is set to "All Layers" then it will respect the opacity. If you have it set to "Current Layer" you will get that original blue color. Hope that helps!

It is possible indeed. Just make sure your photoshop interface doesn't take all your screen but just part of it. On the other part, put the thing you want to sample from (browser window, video or anything). Then in photoshop, have a file open and with the eyedropper tool selected, click and hold anywhere in your document, and move outside of photoshop, to the source you want to sample, always holding down. You'll see the foreground color updating as you go over anything with that "trick" :)
