The creaking isn’t even remotely scary. They deal NEGLIGIBLE damage. A ZOMBIE is scarier. And there’s zero reason to defeat it, too. Unless you want to troll your friends, I guess. Really wish that it was way more dangerous, and that destroying the hearts without silk touch gave a new material that could be used to craft something like a block that gives redstone signal when looked at, or a weapon that does wooden sword damage normally, but deals triple damage when you strike an enemy that’s looking away from you

You didn't say everything. All and only Illagers (Evoker, Pillager, Vindicator, Ravager, Illusioner) are running away from The Creaking, like Villagers from Zombie. It has to do with why Pale Garden is intended to be variant of Dark Forest where Illagers' base Woodland Mansion exists.

I’m across this randomly in my new MC world. I was originally unaware of it and was just looking for a jungle biome, and found one right next to this biome. As someone who originally started playing the very first day the official beta was released, I’m always baffled how much has changed since then.

While not as long as you, I’ve been playing since 2012 and have the exact same experience. Every few years when I come back to play it gets me how much has changed Especially on things like Minecraft PE it’s shocking, there used to be a world border and instead of a nether portal they had a nether reactor which would create these creepy hulking netherrack fortresses. Oh and so much fog, that’s where everyone said Herobrine hid😂 Man, where did the time go

another useful tip is that you can use an observer with a creaking heart to act as an underground daylight sensor, as the heart will turn on/off with the day night cycle regardless of exposure to the sky, unlike the regular daylight sensor

This is truly the mob of all time. Killing it has zero uses, it does no damage and isn't scary as a result, and the heart does absolutely nothing as its one function of guarding builds from other players is completely worthless due to the lack of damage and only being at night

A great thing Mojang could have added would have been modifying the creaking hearts with somethings like amethyst shards and having them become friendly with blue or purple eyes to help with base defense against mobs. If it dies it respawns but comes back the next day.
