On one hand, this is incredible for mapmaking and possibly general gameplay! You have way more options when making maps (custom food, tools, etc). I’d even bet this is a sign of things to come, like increasing stack size by default so inventory management is a little easier. On the other hand, now all those peenixsc videos of Steve eating anything he wants will become reality

The entire crafting system seems designed with multiples of 4 in mind, wouldn't an increase to 120, or just 128 be better? There are so many recipes that will leave you with 1 leftover item to clutter your inventory even further.

When I was in school, I played this Minecraft quest master game with my friends where you got things for getting things. (ie. if the quest master says to get an apple, you go the the pipe thing (the forest) and give it to the quest master.) We used the things in the playground as Minecraft objects and you got a Superstick™ (Literally all netherite tools + shears + fising rod etc.) and we even had all three dimensions as well.

Whenever people complain about updates not adding enough to the game, I think what they don't realize is that more is being added than what they might experience in vanilla survival. Over the past few updates, they've added features like this for people who create content (maps, servers, datapacks, etc) to use in their own cool projects. This is one of those cool features that opens potential for so many possibilities, if you really can change the functionality of an item to behave in basically any way you want. Huge Mojang W.

(tldr at bottom) Are you perhaps a spreader of, ahem, misinformation? Because not only is this false with one google search, but eating dirt can cause lead poisoning and/or anaemia. It's also a major psychological problem (for the rare people that have it) called geophagia, where people refuse to eat people food and prefer dirt/sand/gravel etc. If they're clean or you've got a stomach harder than my - NEVERMIND, then yes they do help with digestion by crushing the food inside you, but otherwise this is simply false TLDR - nuh uh, liar liar pants on fiar
