Correction . Quincy and Michael asked Edward how much he wanted AFTER they played his song with his solo . He said NOTHING . Edward did it as a favor . All they had to do is supply him with some cold COORS beer in the studio . Interesting note : Edward brought in HIS Marshall amp and after the hookup they started recording and Edward's gear caused the recording studio to catch fire . The whole Roth/Edward not being close puzzled me because I saw them together in CREEM magazine all the time . Im guessing Edward was really introverted . They were close BUT at the same time they weren't . I even saw a more recent backstage pic of them together smoking cigarettes . Then there's the brothers talking with Dave in the 2part ADKOT promotion video on KZbin . The only one missing was Mike . As for Mike , Im guessing what pissed off Edward was Hagar's lies never stopped when Mike joined him . Remember , even Mike agreed with the brothers that Hagar quit . It was in the VH3 promotion issue of THE INSIDE MAGAZINE . In the group article , Alex Edward AND Mike all said Hagar quit . It was Warner Bros DEMANDED the greatest hits album , contrary to what the liar Hagar said . It wasn't Ray Danniels' idea . Even Ray Danniels said he quit in a Los Angeles Times article . You can find it on the Internet . Hagar even told one of the reporters he didn't want to do the greatest hits album . He couldn't find any excuse till he made his book of lies RED .

Why did Dave leave ? Since newer info came out , in my opinion Dave didn't get recognition from his own band members for his contributions to the band . Alex was usually unheard from un interviews and only recently did he say Van Haen ,to him , was the beginning with Dave till the 1984 album . And Dave would hear 💩 from certain other people , isn't that right Michael ? Dave felt unappreciated and on top of that , no more fun times @ Sunset Studios . Im guessing he didn't like the 5150 studio Donn Landee and Edward built . Speaking of Donn Landee he deserves the most credit for the albums he worked on . Edward said it himself Donn did all the work during the Sunset Studios days . There were times he wasn't happy with Teddy Templemans work and opinion on the recordings . So , whenever everyone else left the studio , Donn and Edward would do remixes at night to Edwards approval . Nobody could tell the difference . Edward always gave Donn Landee all the credit in guitar magazine interviews . As for Sam making up with Edward , what happened is debatable . Yeah , they made up because of Edwards illness BUT I don't think its a hundred percent because Hagar pulled his " I got fired " bullshit in the story . And Alex still won't talk to him . And this is my opinion : Alex and Dave were going to do a real tribute show and once it went public , Captain Candyass Hagar went public wanting to be a part of it . Once that got out Dave AND Al dropped the idea .
