@@oxydatorThat's true for leaders and people concerned about the security of the state, but you forget that the West is mostly democratic. Citizens have other concerns outside of a foreign war and that affects how the direction of the state is run. As the conflict reaches more of a stalemate, the urgency becomes even less, and citizens and their officials would probably want to see other things get done rather than waste tax payer dollars (I know aid to Ukraine is not a waste of tax money but you hqve to go through boring details to understand it. As in all wars, there comes a point where there is not enough of everything to win, yet alone continue. At this point, all I see is waste, waste of resources and personnel forced on both sides, and especially civilians. As far as Putin's call for mobilization, it reminds me of a line I once saw in a movie that goes: "I'll fight you until every drop of his blood is gone." It is not Russia, it is not Ukraine, It is not the West, but Putin who has nothing else he can do or place he can go, because not winning = failure, and failure = a change in government and government leadership. Since Putin has all but abolished elections, there is only one way this will happen. JUST SAYING...
@NoName-ym5zj
@NoName-ym5zj 3 ай бұрын
Failure does not guarantee change in leadership, history has shown that autocracies can survive despite major military defeats as long as they have a way to enforce their power. It is highly unlikely elites will be ready to give up putin, because after all he is the one who has provided them with everything they have for decades, there is no reason for them to risk their lives and threaten putin's role as the dictator of russia.
