Nice one dude, I'm leaning towards buying this bundle.

I have a NiftyBundle under the tree, and Brains on its way. Chipz and Cellz are odd, but as you've shown here they can range from noisy outright to relatively well behaved! (Somebody get Florian to do a Bad Gear episode on the NiftyBundle, this should be a riot!)

I Just been trying It, Wish i could play some cells silent

Yes, no simple way to do that. Maybe you can use one CV channel to control CHIP 1's filter to effectively open/close the filter to play/silence notes? Might be possible when CELLZ is not in quantised mode. Or add a VCA and use 2nd CV channel to control that...

Just bought this one and just starting my modular journey. What budget modules do you recommend buying first to play along chips and cellz?
@dylski3 жыл бұрын
Nice one! I think envelope generator(s) and VCA(s) could be a good start to give you control over notes and their modulation. There are so many to choose from and price depends on where you are and whether you want to build it from a kit so have a look around. E.g MRG in UK are great value for kits and prebuilt modules.

@@dylski Thanks for prompt reply, Dylan. Researching VCA and EG now ;) Best!

Very noisy VCO. Even with a filter, it is hard to dial it in clean.

Is chip really noisy?
@dylski4 жыл бұрын
It can sound pretty aggressive a lot of the time and can be tamed to produce some great sounds through a filter. Chip 2 lots of harsh overtones from the PWM. Interestingly, it sets pulse width for *all* the waveforms, not just square wave like some other oscillators, so you can get chopped sines, saws, etc,. I have no idea what Chip 1 is really doing. Both morph between all the different waveforms too which is a nice feature. If only that could be CV’d...

if you are asking about ground noise, no it is not noisy, I did find that case to be very noisy if the outputs are left unpatched for some reason
