Music is beauty, and you make music. A lot of people overcomplicate music. You keep it just nice and beautiful and that's exactly what music is! Keep it up

Thanks for the tip Hans, I tried fibracell ones a few years ago, found them a bit unresponsive. I'm very choosy about reeds, they affect my tone so much. Ive settled on RJS for now, very consistent 4/5 good out of a pack. We can only buy Legere mail order here and they are £20 per reed. I also looked at their website and it says not to leave the reeds on the mouthpiece, that's no good for me, because thats a bad habit I have. I like to just pick up and play.... when inspired!!

You should use one more hour to try out the Legere Signature. The Signature comes i 1/4 strenght. They last "forever", they don't have to be wet, they don't dry out. Adjusting a cane reed might be useful, however, my experience is that the next time you are using the very same reed, it behaves different. Signature does not behave different. I'm also using Legere Signature on my clarinet. It's recommended that you are using two reeds, and rotate. That's recommeded for cane reeds as well.

The Légère reed has a resonant frequency and overall response very close to that of the cane. I have been using Vandoren Java Green #2 and Otto Link NY .105. I actually can't tell the difference between that reed and the Signature #2. So far almost every reed I have bought can be used. Yes, they are expensive, but it's also expensive to buy a box of 5 Vandoren, and throw away three of them.

Sorry, my english is no good enough to express properly what I think and feel. Saludos desde Buenos Aires

I'm pleased you have had success with them. For me though, it has taken me 5 years to find reeds that I like, and I waver between RJS 3M and Alexander DC's 3...when worn in properly they last for 3-4 weeks at a time so I can't see the legeres offering me anything better. I can adjust a reed to make them work too. My heroes all played cane reeds and that has a lot to do with it too, I guess I'm just old school, and it's part of the charm of the instrument :-)

Beautiful as always. You usually can cut the tracks very easily by cutting a chorus (not the last one) you can do it with audacity

Nice playing. I have taken up jazz after 25 years of break from playing. I used to play the clarinet, but have now turned to the tenor saxophone. I was hoping for that some smart guy would have come up with a product that could eliminate parts of the reed-lottery/frustration. I have tried several artificially made reeds, and found the Signature series from the Canadian company Legere very useful. Have you given them a try?
