Wow wow wow!🥰 You are a real Artist! I must have watched you before as I am a subscriber. Nevertheless KZbin doesn’t show some of these KZbinrs. So it was luck to find you again. I know it’s an older video, but maybe you still read some comments. This comment only tells you that I am blown away from all the things you sewed. And I will directly start watching more. As I am not a native English speaker I don’t understand everything as the sewing language often is a language you don’t hear or speak and understand very often. But please let me tell you, that I adore all those clothes and I am looking forward -very much - to watching more from you! Deep greetings (can I say this?) from Europe. And I am probably so happy to come to the US next month (you are from there.?) and then can buy a few patterns and fabrics which are too expensive to order them from the US to my country😢. Take care and stay healthy and happy💕

I’m a new subscriber and fairly beginner sewer. I’m 5’8 with a similar body type although I’m plus size 12-14 depending on the time of the month…anyway, I feel encouraged to start my own DIY wardrobe because I also find that I don’t like the way things fall on body so I have to adjust things often. I find this a very encouraging video. Thank you.

I just found your channel and I am so impressed with your makes and pattern designing abilities. The rib cage levi hacked jeans look awesome on you. Recently i paid a fortune for some Eileen Fischer tan pants and am inspired to hack them It should be a lot easier than jeans. One of my favorite dresses is the mccall's 7969. I reduced the sleeve volume and lined the bodice on mine. It's very interesting to see the multiple ways you use a single pattern.
@PatternScout
@PatternScout 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Oh yes, I think Eileen Fisher styles would be SO easy to copy--lots of clean lines and minimal silhouettes. That McCall's 7969 is one of my new faves! I see more versions of that one in my future. And I love getting as much mileage as possible out of a pattern, gives me a little challenge without the frustration of fitting a totally new garment! haha

Pants are just a literal pain in the butt to find for a lot of folks, I've learned! That's my second pair of ponte "jeans" and they are the most comfy, practical pants! Love everything! But especially that blue wrap dress. Oh my goodness. Awesome. Looks so beautiful on you. I'm scared of wrap tops, just because I never feel confident they'll fit/sit right. I've tried a few, with semi-success but nothing I'm comfortable wearing out all day. Maybe I'll try again this year. You've definitely inspired me to try. :)
@PatternScout

Thank you so much! The last time i wore that dress was in the summer--i forgot how much I loved it! My fabric choice, while kind of a pain to sew with, was good for the fit too I think: a crinkle rayon with just a tiny bit of stretch/give so I could get it snug at the bust and waist. Not gonna lie, I was kinda regretting not making the pattern a wrap style after this video 😅

Button fly jeans very cute but for me, a hassle buttoning up and down! Key to sewing is knowing how to fit a pattern to one's body. Gone are the days where I can sew up something right off a pattern, let alone go by the measurements on the package.

Where do they sell pattern scout patterns? I'm a beginner in sewing. But i'm very interested in learning. How to improve my skills.

I have links in the video description to my patterns (and any other resources mentioned). I sell them online only, so you either print them at home or with a copyshop. Hope that helps!

Oohh I want to sew my closet too! Do you have good fabric store options around you? I get discouraged because there aren't any fabric stores around me. I guess it's hard to get inspired when you can't feel/see the fabrics in person.

I totally get that! I am lucky to have a JoAnn Fabrics near me and another small indie fabric store. Although, I do end up ordering online a lot (once i started sewing more regularly, choosing fabric online was easier). A lot of online stores also offer fabric samples, which I used to get a lot to build up a little swatch library for reference (Moodfabrics.com, fabric.com, Blackbirdfabrics.com, dharmatrading.com are a few that come to mind). I have also found great fabrics at the thrift store!

Hei, I was wondering, do you have a pattern for the square neck top at the 11:33 min? Thanks in advance

@@PatternScout okay, thanks! How would you do this easy pattern hack, if I may ask? :)

@@shiftit6133 oh, sorry! That would be nice of me to share (I was thinking I showed it in this video, but I was confused)! :) I have a video where I show how I hacked it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rpXFpGyXbNafhNE And in that video I show it without a binding, but if you want to add a binding around the neckline, you would do it the same as a standard neckline binding. Hope that helps!

Hi Casey! I just found your channel and have to say, I loved your makes. I wasn’t expecting the McCall’s pants pattern to look as cute as they did. Based on the drawing on the envelope I would have never guessed that they would actually be super cute. I have to make a pair now. Question for you, how many inches did you add to your pattern to make them the length you cut out? I feel like that was the perfect length.
@PatternScout
@PatternScout 2 жыл бұрын
Yes that pattern is so simple and great! I have two pairs of pants and one pair of shorts that I live in during the summer! I can't remember how much length I added, maybe 13 inches? I know they were longer before I hemmed them and I just tried them on to figure out how much to trim (I always add way more length than I need and then trim...tall people probs!! 😅). Thanks so much for watching!!

It is a linen look fabric from JoAnn--"Galleria Good Nature Papaya Gauze". It is very light and flowy, I love it! I've also made pants with the green color.

What is your favorite weight/type of linen to use?
@PatternScout
@PatternScout 2 жыл бұрын
It just depends on the project...for tops I like light weight, maybe under 5 oz. and for bottoms I like something a little heavier so it is less see through. :) I also like linen blends (linen/rayon for ex) because they feel nice and have a nice drape.
