I love a bookish video from you! I read Wintering last year after you spoke so strongly about it in your moving packing vlog, and it was immediately a soul-read that will stay with me for a long time. Looking forward to checking out some of these!

I'm really curious about The Burnings after this review. If you’re looking for more historical fiction featuring witches, I think you might like Leigh Bardugo's The Familiar. It is set in medieval era Spain during the Inquisition and follows a young woman hiding both her skill for magic and Jewish identity, two things putting her in grave danger for the era. It was a favorite of mine last year, highly recommended!

Loved this video! I really enjoyed the way you described the books as someone with a literature background. Your descriptions felt very thoughtful and comprehensive without spoiling too much. It made me interested in reading genders I haven’t read before. I would love to hear more book reviews from you!

I have been following you for a while and hardly comment! I saw when you first moved to Edinburgh and when you were showing your home you were considering turning your library into a closet because of the nice shelving but I am SOOOOO happy youre having a reading kick, so I hope your library can stay part library and closet because it is BEAUTIFUL.

I think your book videos are the best ones out there and I'm subscribed to quite a few bookish channels. Your reviews are always so clear and interesting. I do understand what the book is about and whether I'd like to read it or not just by the few sentences you say about them. ❤

Mary, it is so funny that you mention that the characters in We Solve Murders have intense similarities to those in The Thursday Murder Club. As you described the daughter-in-law and father-in-law, they automatically reminded me of Donna and Chris!!

Historical fiction is my fave!! I love the serial killer mysteries too but anything from the Viking era, to Henry the VIII to 1800's in the UK? Yes Mamn! The medieval period is my fave. I had viral bronchitis and a sinus infection the last 10 days of Dec till middle of January. Feel better❤❤❤❤

Great witch trial book, Witch Light by Susan Fletcher, set in Glencoe, all the highland feels. Also, look into the Bargarran Witches, my local witch trial in Renfrewshire, villagers accused by a child, crazy story!
