So good to hear that the old vlogs will be accessible somewhere. Honestly, I don't feel Christmassy without your vlogmases! Thanks for being willing to keep them available, but I totally understand the thing of not wanting them available to every random person.

I miss those old univlogs - they truly helped get me through my second degree, they help me through my depresso espresso days, and they help motivate me to leave my house so thank you for all that! I'll be so happy if and when we can access them again.

I could listen to you talk about books for hours. I love your recommendations and really has helped me to branch out and explore new genres that I maybe haven’t even heard of before ! Being a fellow mum I also read a lot of audiobooks as it just helps when I’m not feeling 100% focused but honestly I could just put your voice on in the background and it feels so relaxing have always been a fan even since your uni days but glad you are going with this new style videos I think it’s great & perfect just as they are please never stop uploading ❤

What a premise Morning and Evening has, I’m intrigued… though have been worried Jon Fosse is too big brain energy for me. Ha. It Lasts Forever And Then It’s Over also sounds great. Fab wrap up as always.

I recently finished It Lasts Forever And Then It’s Over and I liked it. I also read my first Dostoevsky book. It was White Nights and the unrequited love was a little too relatable. Now that I read one of his smaller works, I am open to take on some of his bigger and more well known ones like Crime and Punishment. Although as a slow reader I am a little apprehensive because I can slow to a halt even while reading. LOL can you tell I am a fan of short books? Anyway, I am giving Fourth Wing a try and right now I don’t hate it. Maybe it will open me up to a new genre. As of right now I don’t plan on stopping and I’m reading at my normal pace. After that, I plan to start reading Annihilation. You have convinced me to try my first Jeff Vandermeer book. It has nothing to do with how pretty the 10th anniversary editions are. * cough cough* We love the wrap ups and the updates you give us. As your supporters we might seem impatient but whether you post week by week, month by month or even year by year WE WILL BE HERE!!! PERIOD. So shine on, Sumbeams! Stay strong and keep love in your heart!

What you said about Vajra being at his best when he's at his weirdest and wishing there was more: look forward to Rakesfall! It's a personal favorite of the year. I also recommend the interview with him done on the podcast Between The Covers, to me it shines a light on how brilliant he is! Very very good interview.

If you are looking for a speculative fiction graphic novel suggestion I highly highly recommend Monstress !! It's a high-stakes story set in alternative 19th century asian-inspired matriarchal world with a protagonist who has a monster in her arm (it's so much more than that, but I don't want to give anything away !) psa that it's still ongoing so we don't have the conclusion yet :)

Hi Jessie, if you liked the Jon Fosse, read Septology. I read it early last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. Really big book, which I like, and about Artists,my favourite subject as I did a degree in Visual Arts. Want to buy it but will wait for second hand as it’s quite expensive. Didn’t find out he won the Nobel until after I finished it. Same sort of stream of consciousness writing, which I also like. Cheers.

It lasts forever and the it’s over is one of the very few books I read this year and it was excellent! Absolution is on my Dec TBR, I can’t wait! I last read the world is full of monsters on audio and it was so wonderfully weird.

So great to hear your toughts on Bolaño’s writing. I’m from Chile and sadly his work became more popular for most people in my country just after his passing. “The Savage Detectives” is a great book to continue with his works and I also recomend “Last Evening on Earth”, a collection of short stories that can serve as an introduction to his writing.

porque estudiar tanto s libros sin sentido y que al final no la llevará a ningún lado, porque mejor no estudia la biblia eso sí le traerá satisfacción y le salvará toda su vida.
