Hi inger, it is interesting that often if you watch the movie before reading the book, the book becomes a bit of a let down. I am reading 'The English Patient' by Michael Ondaatje which is very different to the film. That big epic is an old favourite of mine and was delighted when I saw the book available in Waterstones. The book is actually very well written and an interesting account of how war had very much effected the characters in the novel. I would never have believed I would have found a chapter or two on bomb defusing so interesting! But I guess that is why books are often full of surprises and movies really do take on their own life and develop a book sometimes in a different direction. You have done better than me by reading the books you have. I have only read three books this year. Thanks for your interesting discussion. The Daphne du Maurier books does sound a little unusual! Have a great week!

Hi Caroline! It is always funny to see how different movies are from the books they’re based on, the book you’re reading sounds very interesting too! Thanks for watching and have a great week also :)

Hey Inger!! I hope you’re doing well :) if you like daphne du Maurier’s work I’d definitely recommend Rebecca by her as well, if you like Jane Eyre at all-it has very similar vibes to that I think :) hope you have a nice day!

Hi, thanks for the recommendation! I haven’t read Jane Eyre yet, so I couldn’t say if I like it, but I am looking forward to reading both it and Rebecca at some point in the future! Thanks for watching and I hope you have a great day too :)
