Last year I bought at least 15 Seszane sweaters on the hype wave. I lived in them because of how cute they were. Guess what, they don't hold up, stretch as hell, loose shape and pill heavily (due to 30% polyamide). The denim embroidery Jacket arrived at such low quality that the threads were literally falling off. It's all so much hyped and I don't get how the influencers lie about it in their videos. Thank you for your honest opinion

Couldn't agree more, I think that as they grew in popularity their quality control lessened. The Sézane subreddit often has people complaining of low quality items

May i ask how you washed them and how often? I dont disagree that there are QC problems bc I've experienced them with some Sezane items. I ask bc i have one mohair jumper that i've using often but im trying to handwash it every 7-10 wears

I think it’s a very hyped brand and a lot of the items, if they weren’t Sezane, would be deemed unattractive. It’s really easy to get sucked in. Thanks for your thoughts and experience with the brand 😊.

This is so NOT my mindset (I prefer new things that I feel have more wear left in them, and if I need something I go and buy it), but I'm glad to see this kind of view, it makes me pause. Thanks for the video

100 percent wool is actually the most itchy, typically someone wears a satin garment underneath or it’s lined to lessen the irritation issue. The synthetic blend helps alleviate the issue but I understand your point regarding price and fabric composition.
@FeelingGoodAsHail8 күн бұрын
That makes sense! My wool synthetic blend sweater is the itchiest thing in the world but as another commenter mentioned, it's probably from the wool being low quality. I feel like it's a case by case/brand by brand basis (and another reason why shopping in person is way better than online imo!)

with good wool this isnt that big of an issue
@alyxxa61827 күн бұрын
Merino wool is ultra fine and silky. You buy poor quality wool. And Synthetic fabric sheds microplastic, and is literally garbage.
@margaritap.94597 күн бұрын
That is a sign of low quality in wool, that's all.

I get most of my clothes at local thrift stores. About once a year, if I am looking for a specific item, I will buy clothing from eBay. I’m curious as to the thrift store pricing in your area. I’m in Alabama. Generally, tops and sweaters run $5.99 - $7.99. Pants run from $6.99 to $12.99 - most are $9. Items new with tags cost more based on the original retail cost. Sometimes, I get very lucky and find a great piece for super cheap because the workers aren’t familiar with the brand or item. Last week, I bought a vintage Peruvian alpaca cardigan for $4.09! I think it’s from the 1980’s. It even has knitted shoulder pads!! 😂😂. There is literally 1 pulled thread that needs to be sewn up - but it’s an easy fix.

Itchiness is coming from wool being of a low quality. Soaking it is in something like vinegar should help.

I'll give that a try, thanks!

I bought the Everlane way high sailor jean last year, a pair of jeans has never looked better on me or fit me better.They didnt even last six months (granted I was wearing them like 3 times a week) they ripped up the bum. I was devastated but loved them so much I found another pair on the seconhand market, the exact same thing happened. I definitely think the fabric content is the reason... I will forever be trying to find a better constructed version of them 😢

Wow so disappointing.

This makes me feel even better about my decision not to buy them! But also so sorry that happened to you, that should never be the case especially from a brand like Everlane

My item is brown knee high boots. I have pieces that would look great with them, however, I have muscular calves so finding a pair that fit my calves that I like that check all my boxes is a struggle. I have a pair that I bought years ago that were supposed to be big enough to fit my calves but I can't zip up the last inch. I love them other than that. I've decided that unless I can find the perfect replacement, I'm making what I have work. Does it limit how I can style them? yes. But I learned my lesson about keeping something that doesn't check all the boxes. So until the perfect pair come my way I'm rocking the cute ones I own.

I am considering a 100% alpaca sweater. I want something warm. Even used they are expensive. I will not buy until I can tell how I like the feel of them on.

Commentary on wool mixed with acrylic, it totally depends on the quality of the fibers. Usually, synthetics are added to natural fibers like wool to increase durability and softness, and decrease price. For people with sensitivities to wool, acrylic will usually feel much less irritating. I personally can't wear 100% wool because it gives me rashes, but a high quality acrylic blend can let me wear more natural fibers without the irritation. However, that totally depends on the quality of the fiber because some cheap acrylics are horribly itchy. My opinion as a knitter/crocheter is it's always best to feel knitwear in person, so I wouldn't recommend buying them online.

Hi, Hailey. I would go for a nude shoe, with a block heal and 2 to 3 inches. Nude generally goes with a lot of options of clothing.

I've got few Sezane peaces, and to be very honest, I don't understand how they became so popular. I can go in detal about Sezane (quality, shapes...), but it's not topic. Right now I struggle how to not buy Levis 501 black jeans. Maybe just small gift for me from me for Christmas🙃

I’ve given up trying to find the perfect wide leg jeans for my body type. 😢. I’ve had to return a few pairs I bought online and I’m just going to stick to wearing the one pair that fits me just right for now. If I’m not trying them on in the store and touching it and seeing exactly how it sits on body I’m not going to order online anymore. I’ve wasted too much time searching online just to try them on and having to return them.

I sew my own clothes now, and it’s made me realize how insane our modern reliance on ready-to-wear is considering how very minute measurements can change whether something fits/lays well or not - that we expect to fit into our clothes rather than expecting our clothes to fit us. This is all to say, though I’ve never done this before bc I sew myself, it might be a good idea to get pants a couple sizes too large and then bring them to a tailor to get them to fit perfectly in all the right areas :O

For me it was the zig leather jacket from sezane,but after my 3rd order, and the jackets having rust on the buttons,i now dont want it. For alsmost 400€ its a big no.

Any pretty looking items in polyester. Leopard shirts and skirts - that trend won’t last for years. I just bought leopard accessory - a belt - which is more subtle.

Sezane is 100% NOT worth it. The quality for the price is awful. I don’t know if it still stands true but back in the day WHBM and Chico’s used to have great belts that were super cute and held up well. The quality for many things has been atrocious the past 10 years 😕.

As a librarian I have to ask why you feel guilty about using the library? Please use your libraries! We are in danger due to politics. If people don't actually use them it fuels the lobbying to defund them. We exist for people to use. I get wanting to support creators with buying work but if it's not in the budget and you want to be sustainable, use the library. I borrow and buy, there is room for both. Sezanne is just bad. I regretted every purchase and finally gave up.
@FeelingGoodAsHail8 күн бұрын
I'm sorry I'm not exactly sure where you heard me say I felt guilty about using the library? As mentioned, I actively use Libby which as far as I understand is connected to my local library. I don't often read physical books because I'm frequently traveling and it's difficult to carry books in my luggage.
