"Everything is Boring" - Dr. Norman Bethune C.I.

Bringing fresh energy to our music program, the grade 11 instrumental music class at Dr. Norman Bethune C.I. in Scarborough, Ontario, is thrilled to present a bold rendition of "Everything is Boring" by The Beaches, a Canadian alternative rock band. This high-energy anthem captures the feeling of restlessness and disconnection in everyday life, a theme that resonates with many students.
Under the guidance of our music teacher, Mrs. Andria Kilbride, we arranged this song to reflect our unique sound as a class. "Everything is Boring" expresses frustration, emptiness, and the monotony that can come with daily routines and responsibilities, while hinting at the pressures and personal experiences that can add to these feelings. As students, we know the pressure and routine of school life can sometimes feel overwhelming, making it easy to lose excitement and creativity.
But this song's upbeat rhythm and bold attitude encourage us to break free from routine and express ourselves. Music gives us the chance to find connection and strength even in challenging times. Through this performance, we, the Bethune grade 11 music students, have poured our energy and passion into creating something that brings us together and allows us to share our experiences with others.
