If she’s keen and takes you to a fence I wouldn’t be kicking her three strides before like your friend was saying, just sit quietly and then remember to go with her when she jumps xx

Don't push her before the jump, the only thing you are doing is stressing her out she knows her job don't get all stressed and adgitated just sit and follow her. ♡

If she gets strong before the jump don't come into the jump in trot then canter 2 strides before you are just teaching her to rush off towards the jump. You should try and canter a few circles until she's listening and responsive then come into the jump. If she still gets strong don't be afraid to circle before the jump. If you can you could also try cantering into the jump then a few strides before trot so she learns to slow down at bit, but it will all come with time.

when she is strong, dont ever kick, especially if you are eventing on her as she will get you off due to her being taught to run through the bit and tanking off, the girl in the back clearly doesn't have any qualifications as no one would say just kick before the fence if she is already strong, i recommend watching youtubers like Elphick event ponies as she has many youngsters and has so much advice when horses are strong, introduce trot poles and small cavaletis and canter poles along the side and when she is calm doing those then add to a small fence, yes you want to event 80 this year potentially but she is so strong nothing will go well as she will be confused if anything happens. i also recommend some very small grid jumps like 60cm as she will disrespect them if any smaller, this will slow her down a lot as she has to think about her foot placements and try to be careful. slowly raise the fences when she nails all these exercises as she will learn to slow down and if she rushes then she has to find her own stride, dont always push her for a good stride or hold her back for one as she will rely on you only, if you let her find her own strides and just bridge your reins then she will learn that she needs you to find the stride to be comfortable jumping, this will help her listen to you. deffo dont listen to your friend as she is setting you up for something bad to happen, listen to videos of people who have great ideas like Meghan Elphick as she also has lessons on there which you could relate to your horses or book a lesson every couple of weeks(yes pricey) but it will help you improve as you can take the advice away and work on it.

Yes exactly. Every time I heard her saying “just kick, and keep her forward” I cringed. Her horse was completely rushing over those jumps, the last thing they needed was more speed.

i know this comment was from a while ago and snip has had surgery since this but i so agree with your comment. i love g and she is a great rider however before snip had surgery georgia was saying she wants do do a be90 by the end of the season, not trying to sound nasty at all but a be90 takes a lot more work than most people think especially with a horse as green as snip. x

the girl in the background was chatting so much shit, but well done for sitting those momensts! 6 months ago you would have been on the floor so a massive improvment on your behalf.

You should try doing trot poles and canter poles a lot more as it will help calm her down a bit more when she's jumping.

When trying to keep the horse in a rythym to the fence you should not be instructed to “kick, drive, and clicking at the last few strides!

Girl in the back ground just chatting shit about kicking and driving into a fence, start by trotting into fences and letting the jump come to you not rushing her

I love watching your videos! But I hate the noseband on the bridle, it prevents the horse from opening its mouth when the bit causes it pain! Thank you for posting!!

So funny how the wheelbarrow becomes like non horse person fancycar. You can’t have have others using it and taking the chance or breaking it. Only a horse person understands. The weather has been brutal this holiday maybe the most
