People will see pride flags and deliberately target those people, which will further divide the community and just kill the game true and proper. @@veronho1ness both of you lost out. they're genuinely brilliant and great games made by developers who actually care. i really wish people could recognize that wokeness doesn't automatically make a game good or bad. shit games are shit regardless of woke, like suicide squad can go eat shit. but good games, like bg3, are good completely independent of "being woke."

@@rice9224 The writing in BG3 is trash. Some quick examples: The beta had an option in the dialogue to attack the vampire twink after he attacks you, but they removed it in the release version to force you to sit through all his dialogue trying to make you like him. The demon who offers to remove the vile disgusting parasite from your brain will outright refuse to do it if you agree, because they don't care about meaningful choices, just the appearance of them. It's not possible to even try and make the tieflings leave the druid's grove peacefully. The tiefling leader just immediately attacks you when you tell him the druid lady says they need to leave. There's no option to even *attempt* diplomacy. And all this, and much more, is still only the first chapter.

@@AliceGorgonia I'm not gonna pretend the writing was perfect - it's a game, so of course there's going to be missed choices and railroading. You can't account for everything. And some things, like instantly ending the game in act one via a demon, are cut for plot. But for the most part, I still believe that the game is great My point is, wokeness didn't make the game better or worse, the game is what it is (mostly) independent of whether or not men can romance men. People are too quick to use wokeness as a scapegoat for all gaming troubles, when in reality lazy writing/game design is what's killing stuff. Likewise, the left is too quick to cry "bigot!" and "homophobe!" when people disagree with anything.

@@rice9224 Sorry. but I like to play a game that doesn't preach to me that I should think a certain way. I am capable of doing that without the need to buy a game to tell me. Just as the recent debacle of Google's AI shows, this isn't about producing a good product, it is about pushing an agenda. Being a good game is not a "get out of jail free card". No one would say, "oh it doesn't matter if the game had an overtly homophobic/racist agenda, just look how good the game is." These are Fantasy/Sci-Fi games where real-world politics have no place. Make a game based on the real world and put those woke ideas in it, see how quickly it would crash and burn.

Women in White peoples had their specific role in society, and men had another. This has nothing to do with landowners (a concept that didn't exist in many White peoples until the middle ages). Don’t ever forget that anyone who is either okay with this change or indeed cheers it _will_ see something introduced afterward that they will take umbrage with. While I’m not throwing shade at Majorkill, for example, the exact reasons why he said it’s okay for Custodes to have women are the reasons he said it’d be a bad idea to introduce women space marines. When they introduce them - and they will, and they will probably do it the same way, as the 2nd and 11th Legions are still lost and largely unknown. If you think the current crop of writers won’t use that to say “there have _always_ been female Space Marines from the start” you’re fooling yourselves - what leg will he have to stand on? He’ll either have to cave or concede that his acceptance of femstodes was a mistake.
