Here is everything new in Update 44.0 in Bloons TD 6! The latest patch 44 brings us a new water based tower called the Mermonkey in BTD6, a brand new map called Luminous Cove, new quests, cosmetics and the usual round of balance changes, so let's go through all of them!

Pirate Lord's buffs were by far the most striking of the whole update IMO. Rounds 75-86 will be a walk in the park with it, with other rounds made much easier too.

I think the pirate lord buff was suprising, considering it crushes ABR mid-late game and if you have the ability, makes you instantly win the last round.

Still waiting for Rosalia to be able to attack while flying to a new position, they can buff her all they want but with the flight boost downtime she is still really inconsistent.

Yeah, it's so weird that she has full uptime on her ability but still can't keep flying forever and has to fly back for a few seconds. I hope they change that

They should make it so when you place down her base, she can be "placed" anywhere around it regardless of whether it's valid terrain or not. She’s flying after all, this would make her less inconvenient to use on some advanced and expert maps

The pirate lord buffs are absolutely insane. I remember way back when it got its huge damage buff that made it one of the best towers in the game, and while it's been scaled back since, it's still an absurdly powerful tower for the price even without the ability. Then they just made its ability twice as strong. I was doing a run on Luminous Cove with it before reading the patchnotes, and I couldn't believe my eyes.

If you want to unlock Mermonkey fast, popping regrow bloons still counts for this quest. I unlocked it in under five minutes just by making a regrow farm on round 76.

The geraldo nerf actually just completely broke the Geraldo tutorial challenge. Now if you actually use the Camo Potion when the tutorial asks, it won't last or be restocked in time for the camo pink rush round, so either you gotta save the potion until then, or spam spikes on that round and pray you'll live

Seems like they messed up with Geraldo, because his tutorial quest now doesn't quite work as intended. Tried it, and he only gets the one camo potion, and if you use it when the game prompts you to, you won't have any way to detect camo in the wave with a bunch of camos. I only beat it by letting that first wave of camos pass just so that I could get the potion effect to last until the proper wave.

I don't know if it helps him that much. 3 times lower rate of fire reduces how much he gets help by buffing towers and will also reduce overall consistency. The better machine gun is a nice buff, and since it is always on first targeting, it might be that NK is trying get people to position him such to get more from last targeting. He might also do slightly better in free play with the sub paragon buff since it pairs better with high damage towers, although likely not enough to matter.

With rosalia on the easier maps you can get flying fortress before round 90 meaning you dont even need the mib even more, its insane how good of a strat it is.

i will agree, seeing whopping 5% cost reduction from rosalia had me very impressed. it truly feel like someone had spat in my face when i saw that apache had gone down by an entire 3k (if even) so seeing it get increased by another 5% is a little better.

REGROW FARMS COUNT AS POPS FOR THE MERMONKEY I was able to unlock it in like 10 minutes with one, you don't have to grind random chimps games or weird quests for hours!

As an ice monkey fan, the massive icicles buff is what's most striking by far for me 10 damage to moabs on a fast firing, crowd control tower is HUGE, and it's really fun. A shame that I haven't seen anyone try using it in any recent btd6 video, but to be fair, it's the ice monkey, do you really expect anyone to use it?

one weird interaction is the crypt also reel in rock bloons since it was classed as a moab class bloon so dreadbloon would be a breeze when facing it in crypt

The Mermonkey unlock is somewhat bugged, I have a feeling you know about this, but simply put: Do the 50 moabs challange multiple times. You need like 3 runs and it will do great.

I unlocked and maxed out mermonkey, heres my rating Base mermonkey has a pretty slow atk speed which is ok but its harder to use on hard mode. One thing i noticed while playing with mermonkey is that the top path is good for atk speed and damage path, middle path is both support and damage as it can hold its own when it comes to damage but its freezing ability is pretty neat, kinda like a middle path ice monkey and bottom path is pretty much stalling and support with the spinning the bloons around actually being a concept and the execution of it is *muah* chefs kiss

Idk why but when unlocking mermonkey i would get a tower to over 100 million pops and it would only count for some, not the total 100k. I even started from the start of a gane incase it glitched out using a saved game and it still was buggy.

I really don't like the alch range nerf. I honestly prefer having the price be higher, just for the range itself. The only way I think it could be changed, while still keeping the price reduction, is if the range went even LOWER, but it could also now be able to be picked up by the support chinook (since tier 5s aren't normally allowed on it)

No, we don't want to remove the uniqueness of towers for the sake of balance. Churchill's high price is a weakness as well as his defining feature. He is supposed to be a strong hero that costs a lot and level slowly. Buffing his stats while keeping the price is the right direction.

I don't like that the genie bottle nerf does less damage to moabs, it was honestly one of its most important points (you can even tell so since Geraldo suggest to buy it). Maybe a price increase or round duration reduction would have been better (honestly in Chimps you know you must buy it round 98 since it sill help in the 3 hardest rounds for a really cheap price)

Crossbow Master's "buff" increases its dps by less than one single pop. The difference made by this that a crit insta kill a super ceramic, using less pierce. The problem is, this change also makes it so damage buffs and debuffs are less effective on the XBMaster so, you could technically consider this a NERF because it's worst than before if you are using alch and gluestorm or something similar. How did they manage to nerf the Crossbow Master? '-' Edit: If I had a nickle for everytime they buffed daaege and nerfed attack speed so a tower was better at layer skipping, but accidentally made it worst with buffs in this update I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice. (Churcill)

Just a straight nerf at Geraldo makes me sad. He is definitely an unhealthy hero, which needs a rework rather than a nerf. He force users to place down a figurine with him, force users to use nails at Round 24, and force users to rely on Camo potions and Gerry's fire. That was the most efficient way to use the hero from start, and it is definitely a bad design for only a single tower. People want to be the one playing the game, but Geraldo users let Geraldo choose the game he plays, in short.

I think it counted the actual pops and not damage dealt. A regrow farm helped me get it relatively quickly.

i am a mortar enthusiast and i have no idea why pop and awe and artillery battery got nerfed, they already didnt have the best performances, and a recent-ish change of the pop and awe got was nuking its bad damage, i had beaten bazaar with pop and awe and 3 other artillery batteries, now its impossible to do that as the bad damage is terrible now, even with 4 artillery batteries you cant pop unless the map is really long
