Deadlock is VALORANT's new agent, and one of her abilities is sonic sensor. This brings a someone new element to the traps in VALORANT, as we haven't had one like this before that relies strictly on sound. I feel like Astra’s and Yoru’s ult should by pass the sonic sensor… and maybe have yoru’s gate or teleporting into it activate the sensor…

i agree. i found it odd that Yoru could teleport in front of it (which makes a lot of noise) but Astra can't bypass it with her wall? Her wall deafens the sounds of the spike being planted/defused.. I think they should fix that, it makes no sense.

@@jackrrival agree, i think astra's wall should cut off the detection range of the sonic sensor depending on how the wall is placed but the area of stun should remain as it is. I'm pretty sure riot would fix this soon

The Astra wall might be fixe later, it supposed to block all sounds so it doesn't make sense that you can stun :(

I think that you can hear footsteps near the astra wall if you are near it yourself, in this instance I think both the trap and astra walking were near to the wall so I believe that is why the trap was triggered. Maybe if either of them are further away from the astra wall by a few metres, the trap would not go off

But only a grenade will force you to make a sound (and that's on the condition that you take it off yourself). No one will go up to the wall and cut it with a knife...

@@CTPATEG1 Yes, but enemies will still shoot it. I think we just have to be creative with the sound trap placement and make sure it's in range with the enemy when they break the barrier.

I think double sentinel with deadlock + killjoy might be the way to go. Kj's turret forces you to make noise, perfect for deadlocks traps. Deadlock molly forces you to crouch, perfect for the sworm grenades.

No. It's a wall that mostly blocks sound, bullets, and vision. You can still hear sounds through the wall, albeit very close to it, so the sonic sensor will still work.

Did you test the cypher dart ? if it acitivates that stun it can be very interesting can you test that out ?

The sonic sensor is probably programed like how you can hear the enemy sounds inside your hearing range, and vice-versa, except it has limited range and an area for detection, albeit, with some exceptions.

I think Yoru ult triggering it makes sense, since you can hear him running around in his ult (I think?) but bypassing Astra ult is a big flaw in my opinion. I think having her wall block all sound should apply to the sound based ability to be a niche counter to it.

Some of these feel so inconsistent. Kj's turret shooting and yoru tp doesn't set it off? Yet it can be set off through astra wall which is supposed to muffle sound?

As a Astra main, it is correct that it detects it thru her wall: Sound is muffed thru the wall, not completely silent, more so when you are near it.

Pls make a Cypher kits interaction with Deadlock's sonic sensor, I have seen many youtubers doing these kind of vids but without Cypher utilities. 1. If u put the cam besides sonic sensor, does it activate? Also when Cypher checks the cam too? 2. Throwing cages onto the ground make a little sound, does it trigger sonic sensor? Same question with Cypher trips?

Does it activate when a teammate next to you dies in the sensor's area (when your teammate hasn't made any sound but an enemy caught them off-guard and killed them before they could fire the gun)? In other words, does dying count as a sound queue? If you stayed alive in the area your teammate died, would their death stun you?

Thanks this clears up a lot! Honestly feel like they should simplify this and just have ability usage trigger it, there’s lots of abilities that have a sound que that do nothing. Without content like this the player base just has to trial and error it to figure it out. Not intuitive at all IMO.

it doesnt block sounds, dont call it a fact it really really lowers sounds but you can still barely hear through, things like the spike planting can be heard clearly if ur close and things like shooting or moving can be heard faintly when ur close
