Does anyone else feel like Salt Lake is literally a city of shady elements? I was reading an article about how material wealth is considered such a mark of the divine amongst Mormons, that a great many try to keep up with get rich schemes and scams. I feel like there are probably hundreds of stories like this in SLC, its not exactly like you would attain wealth by methods such as agriculture in such a harsh, cold environment. Also many avenues are considered improper in accordance to faith and these families tend to have a lot of children and less working women on average. You also have to pay tithes to the Temple (it can be up to 10% of one's earnings) so the idea is to earn big and quickly to cover these family units' needs and then some.

@@naturallyfree376 it's a good point that you bring up ✅ ✅✅ you're right, it's not unheard of. In fact, it has happened to me too in the supermarket and/or shopping with my children. But the difference for me, and maybe most people, is that, within the same day one would notice the discrepancy in their purchase, and would amend the situation in a timely manner. It does look suss though if say Jen or her friend didn't attempt to make an effort to contact Meredith or the store manager after realising their 'mistake'

The only problem I’m picking up is LV “red flagging” customers and persons seem to think this is normal. Perhaps I’m not getting it. And perhaps also, persons have allowed these “brand name” to get too big for their bridge. Perhaps they need some humbling and persons should stop shopping at these overpriced stores that are complaining about persons spending CASH with them. How weird is that.🤣🤣🤣

Like if you pay one thing in cash and then refund it you are not gonna get red flagged, but if you buy dozens of thousands of dollars only in cash and refund several things every month they might flag you

I've said it before but this episode was Meredith's victory lap over Jen. With that said, one thing that really surprises me is that all of these girls came to the table with piping hot tea on Jen. Weren't some of these ladies suppose to be her legit friend, like Heather and Lisa?! It's like shit hit the fan for Jen and her housewife friends just can't wait to spill the tea on her. Not that I'm a Jen fan or anything but I would have expected Lisa and Heather to be a little more tight-lipped around the gossip they have on Jen. IMO, only Jennie played this smart by not assuming anything until there's a verdict.

Hey, because you can't trace where the money has come from, so there's no way of knowing if it's come through illegal activities. When I was working in mortgages if somebody wanted to pay off a huge chunk at once that was outside of their usual payment it's just protocol that is was treated as a red flag till the mortgage owner could prove the source of the money (i.e like of you came into I'm inheritance usually needed to see a verified solitiors statement confirming the amount and the account it was payed to etc)

It's not that you can't pay in cash, but you can't trace cash very easily so if there is somebody repeatedly buying very expensive items in cash (no trace) it looks very suspicious which is why she would've been red flagged. :)

It's not when you pay in cash, is when you only pay in cash. It's not normal nowdays to pay cash only, specially on LV where things costs more than $ 3.000 each. Nobody walks around with that amount of money all the time, cuz it's dangerous. People who have dirty money don't put the money on the bank system cuz feds and the bank will suspect and wonder where this money is coming from. So they need to use cash.
