Good little device. Ordered another one for my work bag since they are like $13 right now with a military discount. One thing I would like to see is the option of getting a notification alert when I have left the smarttags bluetooth range just like when I leave the range of my smart watch. Building upon that a toggle option to also set the smarttag to beep when this happens.

Bought one about eight months ago. Lost my keys for the first time today. Spent about 30 mins looking for them (swearing/exasperated/ angry) before I remembered about the tag. Went to app on my phone, found that it wanted to download an additional something for about 5 mins before the screen with the correct icon came up. Only after about three attempts at downloading did the ‘play tune’ icon appear. However, when it appeared I found my keys in about 20 seconds.

Apple AirTag seems to be better as you don’t have to be nearby to see it’s location. I think it uses other iPhones around to send location.

Hi there. My mother 85yrs old has been misplacing her keys lately. I purchased 2 tags and put 1 on her key ring and 1 on mine. I have a Samsumg A73 5G and it updates very regularly to the location of my keys. But, my mothers galaxy seems be only picking up other samsungs and not hers (samsung Galaxy A13), which is not as good as mine with regular updates. Is there something on her phone that needs to be turned on?

It only connects over Bluetooth, so if it goes out of range of your phone it can't send anything to it. HOWEVER, what it can do is connect anonymously to any nearby compatible Samsung phone and the update a rough location based on the phone that "saw" it. It means that you could see if it's moving or not, and you can roughly find the area it's in until you hopefully reconnect to the Bluetooth. If you're lucky, the Thiefs own phoneight even give you location updates as it would be very close to it!

Thanks the video. Is the location movement recorded on the maps? For example: at 5:10pm it was here then 5:40pm its at another spot? I'm asking because I want to trace my stolen property, and if they find the tag, they'll throw it away, which will not lead me to them if it's too late.

Tested and the problem I note is the dual locate feature dies not work even though I allowed access to find my phone. Double pressed and it only goes off if I open the app which defeats the exercise. Finding the tag however is pretty good within1 room maybe two if lucky. Tracking takes up to 40 minutes to update a new position sometime. Air Tag15 minutes

It can. In order to do so you would have to turn on the notify when left behind option in smartthings app. Otherwise if you don't turn on notify when left behind the tag will not populate on your Bluetooth device list.
