Thanks to its pervasive online marketing techniques, low prices and insanely large catalogue of clothing, SHEIN has gained a rapid popularity during the 2020 pandemic year, becoming the leading US shopping app (beating Amazon) with record-breaking sales of 10 billion dollars. Despite its vast market share, the company remains one of the least transparent, having refused cooperating with Fashion Transparency Index research. In this video, we are discussing SHEIN's numerous occasions of design theft, and its most recent attempt to make amends through a fashion design contest.

lovely video ! it baffles me that we cannot find ways to ban shein from selling to many countries altogether with all these shady lies. i thought we had laws preventing such things from happening but making profit and being corrupted is more important it would seem

the problem with current fashion market lies in the regulations of online trade themselves since the company has to meet the requirements only of the country it’s registered in, and as long as it does, nothing can prevent them from shipping their products worldwide.
