Here’s my idea for the character selection menu: The background would be like Mario Kart 8 but can be a different color like yellow or green. The character selection would have parts of it from Mario Kart Wii, with the characters no bring in their karts/bikes, and if they have costumes they can have that and reacting to the outfit they’re wearing similar to Mario Strikers: Battle League, also for the princesses and Peachette and Pauline, you can choose between their dress and their biker suit. And for the kart customization it would be the same. And when you’re ready, they’ll say something cheerful to start, and then it will transition to an iris-in open fade to a loading screen that shows you techniques and facts like in Mario Wonder

Huge disagree on making the Koopalings skins. It worked for Smash cause of the Clown Kart. For MK they have to be seperate characters cause of the weight system, they all have various weight sizes.

yeeeeah we talked about this while making the video, but decided for simplicities sake it was easy to show that here. In a video we're scripting right now about predicting the full roster we discuss why they wouldn't do this. I do think that there's a decent chance characters like metal mario or PG peach are skins if they are included though, and they just remake their weight stats to match the base characters!

@@SwitchStopI just you all included the fact that no only do the koopalings have different weight classes, but they also use different sized karts like Ludwig and Iggy using medium size karts and Morton and Roy using heavy sizes karts. So they wouldn’t look right being skins for Bowser Jr. especially since he uses lightweight sized karts.

Storymode: The story mode starts with just Mario, but with every track a new character is unlocked. The villain is first just Bowser again, having taken everyone hostage to force Mario to race him, but then he is upstaged by - Metal Mario and Pink Gold Peach! (Yes, that's how I would justify their existence. They are villains. Evil metal copies of Mario and Peach.) It becomes a time travel plot that ends with you having to beat the metal characters on a twisting liquid metal track in a dark future.

You wouldn’t control them, but just hitch a ride for a few seconds before popping back into existence nearby at max speed or a standstill based on if you are holding the accelerator or brake

Heres my idea, basically each character has a different gimmick, Mario has cappy where it captures any driver and make you faster, and the driver u chose will become u, donkey kong can trap things or drivers on a dk barrel for 15 seconds or something, kinda like freezing them, etc..

Suggesting the Koopalings be skins so that they "don't take up any extra roster spots" is fine, only if you mean you want the CSS to be cleaner. If the idea is that making the Koopalings into skins would allow for characters to take their spots, then that's not how that works. Mario Kart isn't Smash, the amount of effort needed to make a brand new character in one is not the same as the other, there is decidedly less work since all that needs to be worried about in Mario Kart is the model, the voices, unique stats and maybe some other minor variables. There's a reason why the skins that do exist are very minor pallet swaps and nothing major. The only exception here is Link, which is BotW costume was added much later. Of course, nothing is stopping them from making more characters on top of all 7 Koopalings, but the main point is that combining the Koopalings into one slot isn't going to free up character space.

Nah keep the koopalings as there own slots unlike the metals and power ups. The koopalings are actual different characters with there own, designs, personality, sizes, and weights. There is litteraly no point in forcing them into one slot. It’s like making, Luigi, wario, and waluigi alts for mario.

I would like to see characters from the "Mario + Rabbid" series be added in the next Mario Kart like Edge, Midnite, Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Luigi, and Rabbid Peach, not that it will ever happen. By the way, Pink Gold Peach, Baby Rosalina, and Baby Daisy (debuted in Mario Kart Wii) only served as pointless slot filler characters and nothing else.

I’m hoping for 48 tracks at launch, no character specific stats because sometimes I want to play like King boo but their stats are trash. Hopefully there is a story mode and a way to disable 24 players and only do like eight or 12 because it might get overwhelming

You've hit almost all of my predictions sans the Launch Pipe returning from Tour and the partner limited time tracks and kart pieces. Lego partner limited run with unlockable Lego mario and Lego Kart on LegoLand track course- Universal Theme Parks partner track course and profile decal. I think this will be closely updated and serviced as much as Tour, still some optional price mechanics but the online missions and tournaments will take center stage over that. Wonder seed races might feature random chaos- everyone turns into goombas for a duration and it becomes a silly foot race, or the track is filled with warp pipe portals that sling racers to random parts of the track sometimes to benefit and sometimes to detriment. Touch a wonder seed and the race is always unique- a herd of wigglers go crossing the tracks causing spin outs and obstacles, or F Zero racers appear out of nowhere sending racers flying once hit from the side or behind. I'm willing to bet that we'll see a Mario Bros Movie inspired Brooklyn track and also race inside of a flat land LCD screen from Game and Watch
