What a pity you did such a short trip in Namibia. One night in each place and lots of driving every day does not allow you to enjoy the wonders Namibia has to offer.

No kidding! We did the best we could with our limited time off from work. Could have easily spent a month exploring this incredible country!

You are a very likeable person😊So sorry about the robbery, I think it's something that everyone living on this continent experiences at least twice and its horrible. Randomly stumbled across your channel, as one does, and am busy enjoying catching up with your many travels.

These type of theft we have to live with. When I started my journey from Abbeville, France towards the African continent, the very first night my four tires were stolen at Orleans from a hotel very near to Railroad station. The vehicle was a five year old Range Rover. You got your suitcase back minus some items but I did not get my tires. Your story revived my old memories of 1978. Wish you a happy and safe journey.

Sounds like quite the adventure! We lost most of the items actually, just a few t shirts were there that I guess weren’t wanted 😂 but another reminder that it’s all just replaceable stuff, and the experience and our safety is first!

I drove with my 14 year old son in a small 2 wheel drive (VW Checo, £11 a day unlimited mileage fully insured) to the dunes on that sandy track! In all we covered 14,000 kms including South Africa up to the Kunene river bordering Angola and then eastwards to Bushmanland bordering Botswana staying with the Bushmen in the wilds with the great character in the God's Must be Crazy by complete coincidence! We drove through grass taller than our windscreen, our tyres full of thorns on our way there, we were told we would never make it! Amazingly with all our many challenging drives on rocks, thorns and sand(which when stuck we managed to push our way out using bits of wood under our tyres ( that's the great advantage of having a small car!) in our whole journey we never had a punctured tyre or a breakdown! (We noted several larger 4 wheel drives on route having sustained punctures) We also did not see another two wheel drive through our Namibian journey! We camped most of the time out in the wilds, (loved Spitzkoppe) and cooked on campfires. Upon our return journey to Windhoek we camped in Etosha. When watchig in the night for lions at a waterhole we met a guy who lived and worked as a night security guard he told us about the terrible crime in Windhoek which was hushed up. We decided to avoid staying the night there! ( Ended up in Bar Grossman) It's now 20 years since our trip and we still have such great memories of our awesome experience and how fortunate we were to have had no mishaps in a time of no mobile, no internet and thousands of Kms from Capetown where we had rented the car!

Very nice video despite the unfortunate mishaps! It does seem Windhoek is sadly getting the South African vibes in those terms... even armed ones lately... 😔

Sorry about the theft, no one needs to experience such especially on a foreign trip with everything in the bag planned for the trip. The Heat and gravel roads unfortunately is what you get when you get off the grid, one has got to be prepared for such. As you may have now noticed the reason those roads are unpaved is preserve natural looks of the south and placing street lights along hundreds of miles of highway into the wilderness won't happen. But sorry for the theft, if you are ever back in the country let us know how we can help you feel a little more safer than you did

Can Americans please stop their foolishness of pretending as if here in America it doesn't get hotter than the 33%c, I mean 33 degrees Celsius is just around 92 Fahrenheit. Here in Florida where I live is 106 Fahrenheit, which is way more hotter than Mpumalanga province in South Africa where I am from.

Hey! I’m Canadian (not American) and I currently live in Austria in Europe :) Not saying it doesn’t get hot elsewhere in the world, but November in Austria is snowy and cold so it was a big change for us to suddenly be in 33 degrees a week later in Namibia :)

Your position may be overstated, Namibia is amazing. Your slight ethnocentric tinge is somewhat cringy. Your country has similar issues. Just to be fair that it is a challenge of planning, not necessarily the character of the country only. Slight over reach. From a U.S. perspective, we are the worst at being ethnocentric, so i just wamted to advocate on Namibia's behafe fairly. Trust me, it is ine of the best countries in African!

Hey! So we loved Namibia. It was actually our fav country on the road trip!! Just had basically everything go wrong 😂 I’ve had trips like that elsewhere in the world too where everything just goes wrong - nothing against Namibia or Africa!! Apologies if you felt it was cringey, I was just trying to document our honest experiences and show that traveling isn’t always perfect Instagram pics 😅 Also - I’m Canadian, not from the US :)
