Whether you are rich or poor, I don't know anyone who won't take advantage of a discount. My best friends wife is from Ubon and one of my good friends/co worker was stationed there during the Vietnam War so when I visited her hometown in 2017 I made sure to take some pictures of where the old USAF base was, he loved it. Thanks for giving us a POV of the Walking Street in Nakon Phanom I loved it. I would never pay attention to the naysayers about Thailand, I've been to those other places and it's still my favorite place on earth! Thanks again guys! Cheers, Tony

I agree 100%. "Thailand will get better" - As a falang, just doing the right thing isn't enough. You will pay more for services, deal with bureaucratic hassle, maintain a bank account better than the average Thai citizen and so forth. The benefits of living in a different country are awesome!!! Well worth the challenge.

Really nice, love watching all the beauty and serenity between Thailand and Laos videos. Hope be on my way to Thailand in the next year once I hit 50 or two as long as I can get this battle with the gov. over with. Sure hope the visa/immigration situation doesn't get more challenging in the meantime. The street scene sorta reminds me of carnivals in the US just in the way it's set up and people wondering around, but the carnivals are out to rip you off.I learned a little how they "worked" back in the 90's when I worked with one that ran the OH State Fair for a week in-between jobs.I never been back to a carny since.

Good day Chuck & Paige, I agree with you. Everything will change over time. Nice relaxing video walking around full of Thai life and food. In your hotel room you remarked about the safe being out on the counter instead of being in the normal location. Funny thing is in most hotels I have stayed in the Philippines . The Microwave is usually located there or on top of the little refrigerator...the safe almost looked like a microwave. Maybe some day you will find the microwave in the closet.🤓🤓🤓🤓

Great video Chuck! I was stationed there in 1974 to 1975 and the old video you posted really brought back some fond memories. About the only thing recognizable in the modern city is the clock tower. I've seen some older videos showing what the old Air Force Base looks like more recently and it seems there's not much standing other then the new airport. I was a security police drug dog handler and we use to do spot checks of personnel and the planes goin back to the world in the back area and the flight line. Anyway, thanks again for the nostalgic look back.

Hey Chuck and Paige and Mom and Bret and Lori, hope I got everyone. That was an interesting video. I think it's great that your mom is going to come to Thailand and stay for a while. I'm not sure if you meant she was going to stay or only spend 3 months in Thailand. You seem to have a good handle on what's going on with the Thai government and their changing rules every day. I listen to the Thaiger news every day and they seem to have the latest news on the changes. The way I understand it they will open the entire country up by the first of the year. Yesterday the said something about letting Malaysia and some other country in next month. I kind of worry about that. Say high to everyone. Hope we can get together while you and Paige are here in Bangkok. Let me know.

But starting to feel, that I have seen everything several times .. You walking in your city, traveling, eating / drinking beer, hanging out with friends and sunday funday is fun .. But after a year I see all your vlogs, a lot today is just predictable. maybe it's just me, or it's ultimately very difficult not to be predictable .. wish you Chuck and Page all the best .. Cheers Mike
