It's kind of creepy how prophetic it was tbh
@stylis6664 жыл бұрын
@@tomraines6554 That's pretty naive. Information has been the weapon of choice since forever and instant cameras and the ability to record sound should have given everyone the instant idea to either use it or at least expect it to be used. Before recording devices it was witnesses and contracts and physical spies and traitors. Before this movie, computers and cameras and microphones had been getting smaller for a couple of decades. And there's a couple of hundreds of sci fi books from that century and even from the century before that, all of them already predicting all of it. If anything, it failed to get the tech right, assuming the audience would never learn how computers and cameras work in an age where every phone already had a camera. Thanks to that failure, this is a dated movie and a 5 year old knows more about the tech than the screenwriters did. Prophetic, my ass. Although, I would love to have that camera in the clothing store :p

The irony of movies like this is at the time we were afraid of a future where our every movement is tracked and recorded by the government. Now that the future is here we realized the government doesn't need to track and record our every move because we do that ourselves and many people's biggest fear is that no one is watching.

Funny thing is, I've seen the movie a few times and it never really seemed like a Christmas movie. Even with all the myriad Christmas references helpfully pointed out by CinemaSins, the movie still doesn't feel that Christmassy to me. Ah, according to production notes it was mostly shot in the winter but they had "beautiful weather" throughout. So that'll be why it doesn't *look* much like winter, I guess :)

The half bottles of wine are wine that has spoiled. Restaurants that sell wine by the glass will typically have a fair amount of these. So, instead of pouring it down the drain, it's still perfectly fine to cook with, so it's used on the saute station and in meal prep. This is common practice at 4 and 5 star restaurants. I would not recommend drinking it though. If the wait staff says it's spoiled, chances are good it'll taste like vinegar. Which, it does.

The game show the guy was watching was an actual game show where 3 contestants who were in debt competed to remove their debt. They all started with the same dollar amount in the negative (which was an average of their 3 debt dollar amounts), and answered trivia questions to reduce their debt and try to get to 0. That’s why they were all in the negative and close to the same dollar amounts. It wasn’t because they all suck at trivia.

When you watch cinema sins just for a free 20 minute Movie .. I AM A GOD
@stylis6664 жыл бұрын
On this movie? That's a sinning for you, mate. You're missing out. Just below you is a comment about the live action remake of Mulan. Now there's a movie you can just watch by checking the sins (if and when they do it) and people's criticism of it and not miss a thing. And in the meanwhile I'm left with the unanswered question why the movie was made and why people watched it who don't tear down films for a living.

Man this movie felt so sophisticated and high tech when I was a kid. 3 and a half minutes in and I already feel like I was played for a fool lol

Brill just had the chips on him, as he explains later he’s hypoglycemic and needs to eat often, I think he even buys the same chips when they stop at the store. Point is he didn’t bring it to block the tracers, he just happened to have it, which is why he dumps the chips out. I mean you could just carry around a piece of aluminum foil if you’re going to do that.

@Frank Pitts they are aware. they just don't care. the more ads the more money they get from them.

It is not their fault, otherwise everyone should have that problem. I for example didn't have ads, exept in the beginning and end maybe. The usual. It should be up to KZbin.

Making people try to eat off of "not enough table" is a great power move. Sitting in the kitchen is "cool" and must necessarily be at a small table, because kitchens. You suffer for (to enjoy) their art.
