1. The high revs on startup is completely normal it'll settle within minutes. Idle should be smooth once settled (700 -800 rpm) If the rev needle is bouncing around you may have an issue. These cars do take a while to warm up usually about 10 to 15 miles of driving. 2. A transmission Drain and fill will make shifting noticeably smoother overall but nothing like a modern DSG, ZF box etc 2. With the door handle looks like you've got rear child locks activated so check that. 3. Your A/C just needs Regassing, a simple fix 4. TPMS sensors are a nightmare on all older Lexus cars removing them is the best thing you can do. 5. Not sure about the memory seat issue but check the Lexus forums as i think there's a way they can be reset. Do that first before investigating electrics. SOLID cars overall , you've got a clean one barely even broken in at 60k! Should serve you well for a very long time if you keep up with the maintenance. Brake calipers get stuck easily so don't forget to grease the slide pins on the at least once a year, it's the only weak point in this car

I have a 2006 Is250 and I will fill you in on the engine problems: 1. Replace Thermostat, Could be stuck 2. Replace Purge valve under engine cover, may be faulty which can cause high idle and throw a cel. It is a switch that opens and lets exhaust gasses vent from your evap canister. If they cant vent, it clogs up the canister which causes high idle and and sometimes a gas smell, due to the switch not letting the gasses vent slowly. 3. Yes the Is250 can take a bit to reach operating temp ESPECIALLY when its cold outside. Thats normal. 4. For the AC, i believe thats your heater core. Havent had that problem happen to me. 5. I use an aftermarket mirror so thats out of my expertise. Same with the doors. The Is250 is so damn small no one ever sits in the back. There is literally no room back there 😅 P.S. Last thing, when you do maintenance, (especially spark plugs and coil packs) that require the intake manifold and throttle body to be removed, remember to DISCONNECT the battery. Long time ago when I first got the car i almost Ran 12 Volts through my hand because there is lots of parts by the Throttle body that are very sensitive to any sort of metal tools back there. Now I know what Zeus' Lightning Rod looks like. My Lexus IS250 is at 280,000 miles right now, so GOOD LUCK!!!

I’m 47 years old I’ve had to a good number of cars. And I will tell you that I am pretty impressed with this little car. I was convinced about seven years ago. One of the bartenders had the same car if I’m not mistaken I think it was a 2008 Is250. And he had like 638,000 miles on his with no issues. I thought he was lying to me that the engine was never replaced. But I also know a couple mechanics that told me they have seen these cars come in to the shop with almost 1,000,000 miles. The car was given to my bartender friend from his aunt and before her his uncle had it and bought it used. The whole time I had this car there hasn’t been many issues. Of course I had to buy a couple things for it like my driveshaft was crap. Brakes and rotors. My exhaust was really bad Destroying the little performance that usually comes with the package lol. A lot of people complain about that is not fast but I’m more concerned about these gas prices then speed. So with that being said if I had a choice I would buy this car again and I would not care if it’s a 350 or 250. The reliability is amazing. Anyone interested in these type of cars don’t shy away from high mileage.

Have you checked the fuses in your car? Sometimes that can be a cheap fix for some of the electrical issues in the car.

The 2nd gen IS250 is GDI not port injected. carbon buildup on the intake valves is an issue on these engines and can cause a higher idle RPM. Use a GDI cleaner ($18 CAD) to clear up the carbon and see if that solves your problem. Search up “Lexus is250 sea foam” to see where they spray the formula in the vacuum lines. Lmk if this works!!!!😊

Your 250 is the same color as my 2012 IS 350, except I have the back interior. I love that tan interior though. Man, it sounds like most of you electrical issues might just be fuses. Also, you might want to have your wiring tested. Great vid bro! I love watching Lexus content.

I have a 2006 is250 awd that I bought about 3 years ago with 65k also. Now I’m at 95k. The high rpm’s at cold start is normal and so is the clunky shifting. I drove a 2012 250 and they definitely improved the tcu software. I also did a drain and fill at 70k miles on the tranny, not much improvement but some peace of mind. For the carbon build up I was told to use full synthetic oil, premium gas, and change the pcv every 20-30k miles and you’ll be fine. They really don’t build up like vw/Audi 2.0T’s and bmw n54’s. Also make sure your spark plugs have been changed. They’re recommend at 60k on is250’s. When I did mine I looked at the intake valves and they weren’t too built up. My only complaints are the trans and the sticky dash lol. Great car otherwise!

@@NavsGarage I think you're supposed to replace every 60k miles, my service history shows Lexus did it for the 60k service. It's a cheap part too, so if you can do it yourself than it won't be expensive. I got mine replaced and it idled a little less. At stop lights it would idle at 800 I think and now it's 700.
