I don't get why Hugo was only in the cutscenes. I also don't get why Flynn wasn't an active character and Cali only appeared in the last cutscene of the 3DS version. It would have made sense if the console version and the 3DS version happened at same time with Flynn and Cali only appearing in the console version and Hugo being only in the 3DS version.

What about Buzz being the head of the Mabu Defence force? Isn't General Robot the leader and founder? Was Buzz just really old and thrown to a high rank when the whole thing was cobbled together? Shouldn't Kaos be super powerful if how stinky things are is directly proportional to power? He's always described as smelling more horrible than anything else in external media. By the game's own logic he could take a whiff of his own socks after leaving them for a week. And what's with the light and dark elements? Are they new or ancient because they aren't needed to rebuild the core of light so I have no clue myself and there's evidence for both.

I think the chompy mage had not been captured, explaining why we see him in giants because he was never captured and locked in cloudcracker prison. He may have stayed hidden and tried to formulate a plan to break out the doomraiders, maybe he even got help from kaos to break the doomraiders out using his machine.

Another sin: this game trips over its own lore since it retconned Chompy Mage into being a Doom Raider, therefore causing its own lore to fall apart since Chompy Mage is in Giants, so he either broke out before Wilikin Town only to be recaptured(Unlikely) or he managed to evade capture as an incredibly evil fugitive for however long it was between the initial capture and the Boss in Giants. Either way, this game breaks its own lore, Not to mention where Luminous and Nightshade were during the takedown(I get it for Marketing, but lore wise, it’s kinda stupid that two of their assets were just left behind)

Actually the reason why Chompy Mage wasn't seen once in the beginning cutscene is answered in the strategy guide. According to Chompy Mage's bio, he first meets the Doom Raiders in Cloudcracker Prison, and convinces them to let him join by claiming to them he can see though the eyes of every Chompy in Skylands, which is perfect for spying.

The reason chompy mage isn't in the opening is because he's already out in gaints, and probably got recruited after the doom raiders got let out, or he just hadn't been with them when they got trapped in prison, or maybe skylanders giants came before the doom raiders where a thing (most likely wrong for that one)

I have always interpreted the time when Doom Raiders terrorized Skylands happening during the events of Swap Force. Considering the fact, the backstories of most Trap Team do state they became skylanders after the events of Spyro's Adventure, my interpretation does make sense.

I think there is a reason to both why we never heard of the doom raiders, as well as where chompy mage is. My theory is that the doom raiders were put into cloud cracker prison before the events of any of the games, and for chompy mage, he wasn't in the doom raiders yet, he was doing his own thing all the way back in giants. And when he was defeated in giants, he was put in cloud cracker aswell, then joining the doom raiders. Of course, this probably isn't right but I just wanted to share my take on what happened.

My theory about Flynn’s ship not landing next to the objective is that it requires fuel and only has enough to land there and just make it back to the academy. He may be the best pilot in all of Skylands because he is able to consistently deal with this handicap. It would also explain why the ship explodes in Time Town, it has fuel.

Despite having many plot-holes due to TFB's incapacity to write consistent stories at the time (Crash 4 proved that they learned from their mistakes so big kudos to them), Trap Team remains my favourite game in the series. The ability to trap villains and hear them shout and scream in the portal is just genius and felt like a true evolution of the toys to life genre.
