Question: was there a Demons Only meeting at some point where all of the demons decided to adopt Latin as their go to language? Are there still some demons that refuse to switch from Hebrew or Aramaic over to Latin?
@PrecariousPorcupine2 жыл бұрын
Latin, Greek, and Hebrew are all sacred languages in Christianity because the sign above Christ’s head on the cross was written in all three languages. “Jesus of Nazareth. King of the Jews” This is partially why, for 1,500 years, the Bible was only in either Greek or Latin. Another reason for that is that both languages were considered “universal” languages, because so many people spoke them after the Greek and Roman empires spread throughout the known world. Anyway, due to Latin being a sacred language, it’s often used in exorcisms, it’s considered “more powerful” than English. A demon may speak in that language, but only to mock its sacredness by using it to belittle prayer or blaspheme in some way

It is incredibly damaging to use them, if I remember correctly because they lack the viscus layers beneath the epithelial layer. Without the layer of protection they are more likely to get scratched or scarred. In other words using these chords for prolonged periods of time would result in you seriously injuring your voice. Depending on how long the exorcism lasted if she was using the secondary set of folds the whole time she would not sound as clear as she does on the tapes. Add on to this I'm p sure it's impossible to produce two distinct voices simultaneously and you've got one weak ass argument.

What irritated me the most about this movie is that the priest's most important goal was getting Emily's story out. That's why he wanted to testify so badly. But this whole movie acts like testifying on the stand is the only way the story could possibly be told... The media is a thing? Writing books is a thing?

Correct. There are several different forms of isolated throat singing, and apart from that the general ability by some to manipulate either set of vocal chords independently, and in turn manipulate them in "layering". Some metal vocalists can actually do this extremely well.

You are mostly right Cimea Sins, in saying humans cannot produce two distinct voices at the same time. Just for additional curiosity I wanted to ask you if you've ever heard of polyphonic overtones, which is the closest thing to a double voice produced by a human. See also Demetrio Stratos (Italian 70's prog singer) and Anna-Maria Hefele (very skilled German singer). Peace and keep up the good work, LOVE IT! :D

The snake that the demon summoned to fall on Father Moore was actually Moore concerned with that Student Union meeting and the resultant decision of which variant of cheese would ultimately be offered with the salads in the cafeteria than altering the outcome of Emily Rose's exorcism.
@cartooncritique66252 жыл бұрын
Love how this movie is supposed to be "based on" the real-life case of the exorcism of Anneliese Michel, but instead of presenting an objective dramatization of the case that leaves it up to the viewer to decide whether Emily/Anneliese was really possessed and killed by demons Hollywood does what Hollywood does best and sensationalizes the Hell out of everything leaving little room for doubt as they push the narrative that the priest was right and the woman was possessed by the literal devil (you'd think the King of Hell would have more important things to do than possess teenage girl). 9:00 Also it's worth noting that in the real-life case Anneliese and her parents are the ones who decided to forgo further medication, NOT the priest...meaning she wasn't even on medication when the exorcisms started. 16:38 In the real-life case this movie is exploiting they were. 17:30 Also that more just proves that God either doesn't exist or is just a dick for letting demons kill some poor girl to suit his own purposes.
