She didn’t, but older people presume she did, they were planning to have a baby but told they couldn’t have kids. There was no belly or anything. Still really sad. Edit: I know many people are saying that you don’t have to have a belly to have a miscarriage and that is true, but this film would’ve thought to do so, (add a belly), to make it clearer since it’s targeting young audiences, and also it would’ve made much more sense to write in that she couldn’t have a baby because since it’s made for children they wouldn’t know that miscarriage was possible and that is something you learn much later in life, like I did, and I remember being really surprised by that and I know at that young age I wouldn’t have been ready for it. And you would have expected a scene where they were at the doctors or anything at all that insinuated that Ellie was pregnant. The scene where they are pointing at clouds and they start to look like babies is the mark where decide to have a kid, then they get excited and get ready for it by painting the nursery, but all that was just preparation because they _decided_ to have a baby, not because it happened. Also if it was a miscarriage maybe they could’ve tried again...? But then again because they couldn’t have kids they could’ve adopted as well, so I don’t know if that point still stands, but I still stand by the fact that Ellie was incapable of having children.

Some dogs are also trained to ring bells that are strung by the door to let someone know they need to go outside. Dogs can totally knock! Also her current cat knows that the downstairs living room and bathroom doors don't quite close right and will tap against it until it opens. I bet you could train a cat to knock too, even though it would be less invested in the fun. :P

I personally like the idea that the dogs called Karl and Russell ‘mail men’ because it’s just what dogs call humans. The first generation of dogs which travelled to the falls with Charles referred to them this way and it’s been passed down the generations. Same principle with the hatred of squirrels. Both constitute part of some sort of ‘dog culture’. Speaking of which, there are no female dogs. How are there still dogs? Charles didn’t genetically alter them so that they age differently... did he?

@rapolassajanas97394 жыл бұрын
A snipe is any of about 26 wading bird species in three genera in the family Scolopacidae. They are characterized by a very long, slender bill and crypsis, or camouflage, plumage. The Gallinago snipes have a nearly worldwide distribution, the Lymnocryptes snipe is restricted to Asia and Europe and the Coenocorypha snipes are found only in the outlying islands of New Zealand. The four species of painted snipe are not closely related to the typical snipes, and are placed in their own family, the Rostratulidae.

For those curious, snipes are, in fact, a real bird - they're a group of species that belong to the sandpiper family. Snipers were named after them because the camouflage of the birds, combined with their incredibly erratic flight patterns, makes them exceptionally hard to hit, particularly if they take off.

I get it. It wasn't about food, water or civilization for Carl. It was about Ellie. He made a promise to his precious Ellie that someday, they would go to Paradise Falls and have her big adventure. He crossed his heart. He was keeping his promise to her by making the journey to Paradise Falls alone (or so he thought. The bratty, annoying kid tagged along). But then, when all hope seemed lost....he read the last bit of her scrapbook and he realized the truth.....that for Ellie, her life with Carl WAS her greatest adventure. Yes, there were bumps in the road and heartache, but she was loved. They had happy moments too. And now that she's gone, she wants him to have another adventure. She doesn't want him to be sad and alone. And he kept that promise too.

my main issue with this, otherwise brilliant, movie is how they felt the need to include a villain. it's supposed to be a simple people coming to terms with things-type of story, and throwing in a classic pixar villain-reveal in the third act is just redundant and suggests pixar didn't know what movie they were making.

I think the bigger sin is that the balloons are dense-less enough to carry the house but only carry it when they're above the house even if his house were filled with them it would be equally low on density. This movie tells a tale spanning six decades, covering the hopes, dreams, happiness and heart-wrenching sadness of Carl and Ellie in the space of eight minutes, without a single word of dialogue, in such a way to reduce a grown man (i.e. me) to tears. And I'm not talking about a bit of moisture either, I'm talking about full bore sobbing which required the movie to be paused while I went hunting for the Kleenex. And I'm not joking either; it took me nearly as long before I could even bear to unpause it. To only remove five sins is an insult. Shame on you, Cinema Sins. Shame on you.
