For this movie to work, we must "lean into" or more apt, "fall off a cliff" of the Placebo effect working in a shared-dream exactly as the devices and drugs in the real world (the placebo effect not only working in every team member's case, but affecting them all in the same way). Otherwise, this going down and up through levels of dream space isn't possible. We are told the alchemist must go with to customize the drugs once inside each level. However, he isn't shown doing this, and if they did show it, what exactly would that look like? .......Or am I missing something ?

Two days ago saw again Paprika, a 2006 Japanese animated science fiction thriller film directed by Satoshi Kon. It shocked me for the first time the coincidences about the dreams, the aesthetics in certain scenes, specially the Paris bar and glass/mirror wall with its counterparts in Paprika. Since I love Nolan films, and specially Inception, would be nice to know if anyone noted this seeing Paprika. It's not entirely true that Nolan convinced WB to scrap the idea of a 3D conversion. He was intrigued by the idea and had a segment converted as a test, but ultimately decided that the technology was not yet up to par, plus it would be too expensive and would take far too long. Nolan has said hes open to the idea of 3D if he finds a project that allows the medium to help enhance the storytelling.

Just a tip: when referencing trans actors, best practice is to refer to them by their present name and gender, rather than referring to them as what they were known as at the time. Eliot, rather than his former name, in this instance. Actor, rather than actress. it's a basic respect for artists kind of principal.
@loominairy4213 Жыл бұрын
*at the time. Get over it
@AtticusThings Жыл бұрын
@@loominairy4213 No. It’s a matter of respect. If you’re going to, rightly, praise a film, it’s not too much to ask that you properly refer to an actor who worked on the film. You know his name, you know his gender, to use the one they don’t want used is to say you don’t appreciate their work as an artist. I do. You don’t. I’m fine with what that says about you, the real question is, are you?
@AtticusThings Жыл бұрын
@@Shadows-RC if you were to ask any gender studies professor, or biologist. They would both explain that gender is a social agreement within a given society. Sex is a biological condition. Gender has changed for everyone in the last ten years, let alone twenty, forty, a hundred. Gender norms and roles change and evolve over time because gender is social. You can’t ignore that fact. We know gender changes. Since it changes it is social. People get to choose how they present, and get to choose where on the spectrum they’re most comfortable fitting. Your inability to accept that others experience the world separately and differently than you doesn’t make trans people go away, and it won’t make them “stop” as you’re so kindly asking me to do. Those are facts. They don’t care about your own feelings, biases, insecurities, or bigotries. They’re just true. All the best to you, -A
@AtticusThings Жыл бұрын
@@Shadows-RC it is entirely out of disrespect. I’m sorry you feel that way, but it costs very little to treat others who’ve done you no wrong, with decency. You’re being blocked now. I wish you the best. Trans people aren’t up for debate.

Dumbest film plot ever! If Nolan didn't try so hard he could be a truly great director. Always overcomplicating everything unnecessarily. He has a great visual style.
