Gotta say, this preset system is a massive disappointment. Literally took me from being excited to completely disinterested in an instant. The kit customization and particularly weapon customization is one of the best parts of tarkov, and they just eliminated all of it. I can not comprehend the reasoning behind this.

Yeah, with the trees being this massive I fully expect the nolifers to have meta kits after a few days leaving casuals nothing but a quick death, once most people can start they will already have no chance, especially if xp is based on getting kills yourself and hoping the higher rank people on your team are better than the other team's

If you don't care about progression and just wanna shoot things you can use the free presets unlocked by your ARP level (Think rank in CS:GO) and the first one has a preset called "Champion" and it has an STM-9 with a holo sight and AP 6.3. There are plenty of presets that don't require a ton of grinding and still have ammo that can pen Lvl 3 armor 90-100% of the time on every shot. Presets you want to avoid generally at a low level are the ones that use soft-target ammo. If you can accurately hit legs it's better, but most helmets in Arena have at least a medium ricochet chance so people will shrug hits.

Because I've been playing recently and cant for the life of me figure out how or at what progress I am with any of the classes. I can see other players have stronger gear and better ammo, but I have looked around so long and can't find anywhere that will tell me how I level my classes, where to look at current progession, or anything at all recently. All I know is that you need to play ranked to level classes, apparently.

The artificial introduction of a grind to unlock the late game content only exists to delay our access to them, suggesting that in truth, BSG does not have faith that the game would retain it's playerbase if all players had access to all kits from the beginning: a poor omen of the meta to come once those who value their time leave and only those dedicated to Arena remain.

The most broken thing about this game is the MMR / Gear score system does not work. Random pick up teams of players using Kedr / Tier 1 kits getting wiped by 5 stack teams in tier 4 + and 100 round mags of good ammo. It’s not even competitive, it’s a joke

I helped fund the making of this game by getting edge of darkness over 3 years ago and it feels like a slap in the face for them to give access to streamers who don’t even play tarkov. I completely stopped playing Tarkov because of bsg be all over the place with the changes… and the audio just sucks. Hope they put to much of a bad taste in my mouth before I get to play it or I just won’t. Not really feeling supporting any early access games anymore… to much room for a game to totally change into something other than what was originally stated.

Definitely feel like ther first round is for eod from way back in the day. I know peeps from 2020 who haven't got it, i have, but i went eod right out of the gate when the game first became available for purchase, so it really feels like their first wave is really condensed around very early adopters at this stage. Hopefully the later waves come quick so everyone can enjoy, give feedback, and increase the size of the player pool

I gotta say BSG feels pretty bad. Banning streamers immorally claiming RMT, Making Tarkov more and more harcore to a fault and unfun, Claiming Arena will be where Tarkov's lost fun is and then Designing Arena to be another massive hardcore grind where ppl who have more time to play have an unfair advantage and auto shit on everyone else who doesnt, then Dropping the game for only select people giving them more of a headstart and not allowing their whole community to play for an undetermined amount of time where they will autmatically be way behind whenever they do finally get to play. Meanwhile I feel like the only way to get any care for the community from BSG is to have to groan to the only ppl who actually do care about BSG's community, it's content creators. Who if they do stick up for the community they risk BSG targeting and banning them immorally claiming bullshit for justification. BSG is amazing in how they do some things so so so well, and then a lot of things ABSOLUTELY awfully.
