Well realistically the only reason the complaints we're heard more this time around as opposed to Chapter 4 where the ARs we're DUMMY Strong, is we had one whole year with Projectile weapons (That are Arguably Very OP Statistically) that, yes a Scoped rifle with Average dps is very powerful when Hitscan.

an impactful balance change to the weapons could've been making the auto shotgun and sentinel pump shoot decent damage beyond 10m, and have the veiled precision smg have either a bigger magazine size or slightly more damage. The holoteoster ar nerf is alright, but the firerate could've been dropped to 5 like the assault rifle

Prove me wrong, but in my opinion fortnite is just making these balance changes so they can say they "nerfed" items that people complain about and are OP, but they make nerfs so insignificant that it doesn't change anything at all, like they have no intentions of doing it. I refuse to believe that they are SOOOOO ignorant and clueless that they actually think nerfing for example the typhoon blade by decreasing its BASE ATTACK damage by 2 damage and leaving the special attack the same will actually make the blade worse and not as OP, it just can't be possible. Each player has 250hp. Reducing by 2 damage means you generally need one more swipe to kill people which is not as insignificant as people think it is. It makes it more likely you will kill the sword user. Bare in mind it was already nerfed slightly a few weeks ago too.

The extra hit is super important, I think. I don't spam sword unless I'm out of ammo, but there have been more than a few times I've won/lost a swordfight by less than one hit worth of hp left. What's slightly disappointing though, is that this only helps in build mode. It still takes 9 hits with the typhoon blade in ZB.

There are going to be so many third-party kills with increased health with Godzilla, but I'm glad they did it. As you mentioned, I have always been late to the party trying to get the dash medallion. This will provide more opportunities to get it.

They need to make big changes. Buffing a gun by 4% is literally just decreasing the speed to just say you decreased the speed. Buff the Oni to have a 1.7 firerate and decrease its reload speed more. Buff the Twinfire Reload speed to 3 seconds on legendary (-5% speed per decreasing rarity)

A 2 damage reduction on the typhoon blade actually matters a lot... but only in build mode. With 200hp, it takes 8 hits now instead of 7. With 250hp, it still takes 9 hits. The slap in the face comes from doing the math, and finding out that if the blade did 27 damage, ZB would have gotten the 1 hit buff too and not just build mode.

Controversial but kinda based take. ARs and snipers should be projectile, as it’s healthier in the long run. But I think SMGs should stay hitscan but have high damage drop off, like the red dot SMG this season

honestly, my only issue with the sword has always been the janky ass animations that come with using the melee. if the person using the sword didn't bounce around like that, the melee would be a noob trap and people would mainly use it for mobility or fall damage kills.

99% of the time it’s so questionable why these changes are made. 6% fire rate? That’s less than 1 bullet per clip difference. Holo twister might as well be unchanged. 4 damage per sword swing? It swings 0.8 per second, 35 per prior, so roughly 11% decrease per 0.8 seconds oh boy… VERY rough math but you get the point

These changes are nothing but a huge disappointment. - When the season started, they actually got the Hollow Twister perfect! It did awesome damage, good accuracy which an AR should have! It was fun. Sad, but Fortnite has ARs all wrong in this game! - The Typhoon blade on the other hand is way overpowered and overfeatured it is ridiculous. Why they haven't reduced its impact more. If it was Typhoon blade vs the AR Hollow Twister, the AR player would be dead everytime. Weapons are unbalanced. All these changes seem to make the gameplay worse...
