Hi guys, one thing I forgot to mention is sun - it needs to be in a spot that gets heaps of sun, at least 6 hours of direct sunlight a day! How are your tomatoes going?

Also you can find a link to the fertilisers mentioned in the video description.

I'd like to know more about his garden bed covers. How did he set those up & what are they made of as they look very sturdy.

Thanks to you and Bryan for the great info on tomatoes and dealing with the recalcitrant seedlings easily!! I would LOVE to see more of his garden and glean more knowledge from him. Just got my hothouse and will be loading that up this week. PS: My strawberries are growing beautifully and should get a great crop from them this season!!! :)

What am amazing setup! Looking forward to the tour. My kids are lucky to attend a high school with a huge garden/farm/animal program too. Templestowe college. These programs are so beneficial for kids.

I’ll have to put Templestowe college on the list of future tours! I agree, such a wonderful opportunity for the kids.

Hi just found you and subscribed I’m in Melbourne too and always watched you on the news. Your baby is sooooo adorable 🥰 love you include her in these. My grandma was an amazing gardener and she always gave me a bit of dirt at her place to plant things. Miss her heaps now she’s passed but her violets are 5th generation passed down always make me smile when they pop up. I ate at a cafe that had amazing tomatoes about 2 metres high asked them what their secret was and it was cow Poo. A warning of using mushroom compost for tomatoes from my experience learning the hard way. It makes the plant produce too many leaves and not enough flowers which produce the fruit. We had cherry tomatoes that grew like a vine (imagine a jasmine it was that crazy) as we had an old corrugated iron fence. We had soo many tomatoes we couldn’t eat all of them and the sauce was very sweet we made. We put a lot in the compost and they were coming up even after three years. They are good to use the seeds but wouldn’t recommend putting cherry tomatoes in the compost you are going to use on the garden unless you want stacks of cherry tomatoes. I’m going to try again after 16+ years of not growing any. The diggers club have lots of heirloom varieties. I’m going to get some from the Preston market tomorrow. There’s lots of places around reservoir and preston you could do a tour with. My daughter went to reservoir west primary and I volunteered at the vegetable garden they had there. It was lovely to see kids who may not have had many friends suddenly find friends at the club at lunchtime. I sew boomerang bags at Watsonia neighbourhood house which has a lovely garden too. Well done keep those lovely videos coming. Will be back in the garden once our driveway and garage are done they are a year over their completion date was supposed to be last year. Cheers Jodie Reservoir Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

Good luck! Looks like we might have a cold front coming through in the next couple of days so might be worth covering with a container overnight!

Great content, subscribed. Just one comment, he recommended tomato dust. Please dont use this as it kills bees. I wish it was banned, people dont realise how bad it is.

@@ChristieCooperrecommend sugar mulch for the tomatoes mulching helps keep it warm too. Our neighbour used to put a normal bed sheet on his frangipani lovingly each winter and produced amazing flowers 🌸
