I feel like this game could take a lot of inspiration from V Rising, as far as the way its a top down style survival game. With basic magic abilities but only 2 abilities max at a time to put the combat in a fairly simple manner almost between rs3 and osrs

This sounds like an amazing idea. I wonder what playform they'll decide to go with. I really feel like they leave out too much audience if they leave out consoles. They could cut mobile in, but that usually limits the game a lot.

Amazing video!!! Felt really interested and happy somehow, I hope they nail it! And indeed keep to the (original) concept of RuneScape, like you say. Always wanted an open-world game set in the world of Gielinor, mix of both osrs and rs. As well get 'involved' in to making this in any way, I also signed up to the 'Closed Alpha Sign-Up'. Ps. I'm in to writing small, big concepts, trying to do sketches, but most of all 3D. Have as well and surely like many others, some fun concepts for rs and for an open-world game of RuneScape. I liked tbe idea of minecrafy survival, but the issue was always that the game didn't scale as you progress. Early on some zombies, spiders and skeleton archers were scary when you had a small house and they were outside. However once you build an entire island surrounded by walls, what do you do? You automate all resources, make farm traps for mobs, etc. There comes a point where it's like creative. There's no "on day 50 there's a big zombie horde, on day 100 a big monster shows up. There's a gap in the market for a top quality survival challenge. Elden ring and baldurs gate did a decent job. It dod remind me a bit of cod zombies, where you have to stay alive and face challenges.

I have very little faith in Jagex's ability to create a new game - just look at their abandoned/failed game graveyard. Their stable of currently live games consist of RuneScape, Old School RuneScape, Melvor Idle, Scum and This Means Warp. The first two being the only original in house developed games - exist despite the companies best efforts over the years to kill them. Melvor Idle, Scum and This Means Warp all were made by someone else - Jagex came along and acquired publishing rights. They have a history of attempting to make/publish new games, it has not gone well. hahahahaha truth Remember, it was the Gower bros that made Runescape. Not Jagex current day. This means they have just about 0 in-house games made by their current staff.

My worry is they drop MTX from RS3 then let it die as they make bank from MTX in this new game. Figure it won't come with MTX to start but will likely get that down the line. Simply have no trust MTX won't happen :c

Na, there is no benefit to letting RS3 die, especially when you consider they have been expanding the team. jagex only benefits from more successful games

@@ChevalricRS Man I hope so. The new direction since the company takeover has been a lot better than the cash grab beforehand. Feels difficult to trust after being stung for so long.

This makes no sense. If everyone Didn’t try things due to the chance of flopping no game or company would ever be created. For every individual who thinks like you and won’t give it a chance there’s another person who will attempt to play the game with an open mind. As long as they can gain and retain a core audience while building on whatever they release then it will be a benefit for any future projects they attempt to make.
