I'm still nervous about this rework. Certain idiot streamers and their knuckle dragging valorant reject viewers who complain about anything that kills them are gonna get this rework either entirely reversed next season or get us nerfed back to narnia because their braincells count is the same as their rank in bronze. The Jay3 video really just infuriates me. He talks about how insane it is an how 'omg deeeeleeeted dem brroooooo' yet misses almost EVERY FUCKIN virus shot an then completely fails to get the kill or escape. Like, he straight up got diffed several times by a scoped in ana. Yeah, he got her to like 1hp but she still killed him and ran off spamming "good kitty". And almost all the kills he DID get, it was like in fights where amost half of the other team was already dead an that enemy was either insanely out of position or honestly just dead anyways cause they had at least another person on them. He even eventually just said fuck it halfway thru the video an swapped to soldier because "that tracer wants my nuuuuts broo". Like, ok.... so since when did Tracers get perma stealth detect. If you got a tracer on you, you're either doing it fuckin wrong, or you're still trying to play like old somba an tryin to play 1v5 in their backline line while your team is still in another area code. And it's so obvious it's just omg clickbait view content too. Like, it zooms in an crops out almost the entire field of view hoping no one notices that the reaper you just molested was in a 1v3 with your team then quickly cuts to your O face so no one sees the pharah rocket you just deep throated cause you got the movement skills of a cerebal palsy victim. I'm no god tier player myself, and hell I full on admit I couldn't take him in a 1v1 (maybe, I dunno. I still think I suck) but I've watched enough good Sombra game play to know what the fuck it looks like. But yeah, end of rant. I hope they don't cave to idiots on our changes. For the first time I actually FEEL like not only a dps character, but a hero who actually has a toolkit that can put power crept supports in their place.

@@HasturBeta Well yeah I don't really expect Jay3 to know Sombra well and he misses virus like he misses his Tracer bombs lol. By good Sombra play I hope this includes Questron, because the rework totally feels molded around Questron's play style

@@The_Rilo I think it was always able to be used like that, it just got better and now you're forced to do it. Also, I think part of the higher value we're getting is that we were to scared. Like, you can easily stay in a fight a bit longer with 70hp now, but I'd prolly tp to my safe spot before

Yes I agree! I like that it goes further and faster. And the I-Frames are easier to use which old translocator had a bit of delay with.

@@eslom. Yeah, any Sombra player who thinks this rework is seeing the light of day in season 8 is just setting themselves up for heartbreak. I honestly don't even think it's gonna last to mid-season. Look at all the buffs they gave others in season 6. Torb, mei, zaraya and Orisa. Every single one of those got reverted in s7. This isn't by accident. Despite the memes "lol does blizz even play their own game" they know EXACTLY what they are doing. It's the same exact style of balance changes they do in wow. It's a way of padding retention and engagement numbers. Always make sure to keep a selection of heroes on the side of game breaking OP, then nerf them an give new game breaking op buffs to another rotation. It gives the illusion they're trying to balance stuff, but they're just fixing it long enough to keep people around. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they flat out remove her speed bonus in stealth when the nerfs hit. The thing is virus is actually fine... kind of... I mean, no it's really not. I think from a design perspective we should be lowering all the healing and damage numbers of everyone not increasing them. There's so many fuckin things in this game that can kill a 200hp hero in 0.5 to 1 second that it sometimes feels like you're playing one of those bullethell games where everything one shots you. It's just that virus damage is fine in the current design, because at least now she's got something that's on par with everyone else's abilities (helix, dynamite, skill orb lol, bastion nade, etc)

i literally love it, dying a little bit more but it feels fair tbh! stealth feels natural and I’m so happy the emp nerfs aren’t that noticable in game (especially thanks to virus 😍)

At 13:05 emp breaks bubble but doesn’t damage or affect what’s underneath, so that’s why reaper wasn’t hacked

Also the hitbox is a bit weird, sometimes it feels kinda like how genji deflect works where the hitbox is slightly bigger than the animation, so an enemy at your right shoulder has a chance to accidentally block the virus, especially when diving in a crowded backline

There is little time to act. It's not like i have super-fast reflex. Since i play LW often now she can follow wherever i go. She can mow down in matter of secs.
