Let's be honest. With a 765 million budget, we should have had a complete, flawless AAA game by now, PLUS tons of free add-on content. This screams "lazy" and "theft" from affar. And gamers keep giving them their money. Stop giving more money to this. They have more than enough to complete the game and also live the rest of their lives without working ever again. Them and their children. Are you doing them a favor, ot what?

I only have contributed the base game package and a ship (around 70 euros). For that I got a game that I enjoy as of now (buggy "GTA/flight sim but in space") which is updated constantly without me spending a penny. It also caters to my Computer Engineering background as I find the tech demos and talk pretty interesting, so why shouldn't I back a project that I find interesting?

Not really telling people to spend MORE money on the game. If you don't believe in the project, then that's completely fine. There are many other people who do believe in it though and the game is finally starting to come together and hurdles are being jumped that have been in the way for years. There is no theft by the developers as they ARE updating the game to this day and there WILL be something at the end. Development takes a LOT of time, money, and people to do, especially something this ambitious. $765m over the course of 12 years is $65 million a year. I didn't think the game was legit either, but once I started doing my own research, not listening to the masses when they said it was horrible and a cash grab, and actually did my due diligence, I found that it's not a scam or lazy theft. It's just an extremely ambitious project. You can spend $45 on the game and never spend another penny ever again and still get a chance to try out everything the game has to offer and all that is being added. This is by no means meant to come across as hateful in any way, but I just kind of get frustrated when I hear people say its a scam these days. Yes there has been some shady stuff like the concierge service stuff, but it's still essentially a go-fund-me. Think about where we were 8 years ago and where we are now. The game has come a very, very long way.

@@Velus_ I really hope you're right and they're going to complete the game at some point (hopefully not in the too distant future), because i really want to buy it too. Not yet though, because i read comments that it has lots of bugs (tragic for 12 years in development if you ask me, but... anyway). I had heard the title Star Citizen in the past, never bothered with it, because it looked like an MMO PvP game and i hate this kind of games. I was with a coworker of mine last week, discussing about games, when he mentioned he has played it and that it's not what i thought it was. Because i love No Man's Sky, he said it's like NMS, but as realistic as it would get and i was like WHAT? And for a few days now i've been seeing videos, reading about it, watching reviews, etc and i couldn't be more hyped! But when i saw that amount of money and saw the years in development, i was like ok, this is definitely a scam like The Day Before was. I REALLY hope you're right. Fingers crossed!

@@John315 I appreciate you being open minded rather than just shutting everything down. The best way to prove that it isn't a scam is the fact that we have had a playable, although buggy, game for years. And on top of that one of the biggest reasons, from what I've seen anyways, that the game has taken so long, is because of things like server meshing, which is a CRITICAL component to the game running stable and allowing them to implement the features that they plan to have in the games official release of 1.0. I became a backer about 2 years ago now, but I've been following the game since before No Man's Sky came out all the way back in 2016. One of the biggest reasons I hadn't backed sooner was because I didn't know if I could confidently run the game. I tried the game out during a free-fly event, and I backed shortly after when there was a major winter sale of the starter ships, which goes on every year, and the game ran pretty decent for my older hardware. Now the game runs significantly better, yes due to me upgrading my PC over the years, but if you go to my most recent video posted today, I talked about some of the major performance changes that I noticed with 4.0. Performance aside, the game definitely still has a long way to go, and it only seems further away with even more features they announce. But with them developing SC and the single player game Squadron 42 simultaneously, that was definitely a big reason the game has been in development for so long. Squadron 42 is almost here, and if that releases with the quality people are expecting, Star Citizen will be absolutely incredible, as it started from a dream and is almost a reality. Definitely keep an open mind and I totally understand the skepticism behind a game like this. But of course, it's your money and your choice. Thanks for watching and for listening to what I have to say!
