Actually it's relatively cheap, putting aside the engineering costs etc, they are making a sunroof for a handful of cars as opposed to say a sunroof for a Ford that will be in millions of cars, so from a purely recoup and make a profit standpoint, $65,000 isn't that much.

It's not the same, it's more about user experience. Like, getting on the track, putting the key in, and turning it. It's a process, you feel like you're doing something, like you're agreeing to a contract that says "yeah i want to die on this track". It's about the action. Of course it's technically useless and you could even just have a code in the infotainment system and get rid of your hellcat key, but where would be the fun.
