I wonder how the PA-CAT will affect the already low percentage of students of color, underrepresented, and low income students matriculating PA schools. Could this become yet another barrier for those students? Something to think about I guess.

This is a very good point. One that may not be considered in the preparation of said process. But people are going to play devil's advocate and refer to the MCAT.. but we shall see..

Peace be to you Adanna! This is the BEST PA channel on KZbin! This PA-CAT concept was inevitable. I REALLY didn't get why we were taking the GREs for PA school. 😕This was a great interview! Your channel is on a whole-NEW level! I can tell you after 20 years of PA practice, there is a HUGE level of respect for the profession and ALOT is expected of us, professionally. This means our knowledge and skill level has to increase and be maintained; LOTTTTTSSSS of life-long work😥 but, YA GOTTA LOVE it!😁📚📚📚🔬👨🏾‍⚕️

I like the idea of the PA-CAT. This puts everyone on a level playing field, as the rigor of undergraduate programs can vary greatly. Also, this is much more relevant than the GRE.

I am a health science major. Besides AP 1 & 2, chemistry 1 &2, organic chemistry, biology 1 &2, and biochemistry. What other prerequisite must I take to prepare for the Pa Cat exam.

Hello everyone, PA applicant for 2020 cycle. Quick update regarding PA-CAT exam: as of 2020 cycle there are 240 questions in 4 hours time given. I am taking the test in a few days, pray for me.

@@jordanmason4592 the exam costs, so i will rather spend 2 weeks on watching the videos and do well on exam than rush taking soon. I needed the videos because I am a visual learner. I got into PA program because I scored well also. So, depends...

I have looked at the blueprint of the PA-CAT, and this is way too extensive for what PA school. I am a recent graduate of PA and successfully passed my PANCE and I can say more than half of this PA-CAT was not even used in PA school.. I understand A&P, but alot of the other topics were not even covered or really needed..

I believe the premise of the PA-Cat is that although much of the sciences that it covers is not overtly covered in PA-School the foundations are the building blocks, therefore, it's a better representation than that of the GRE which has a lot of verbal and writing.
