Thanks. Bought a mixer basic model two years ago sitting there collecting dust cause I can’t figure it out. Instruction manual was useless. The hook up is what I had great difficulty with. After this video I’m gonna go back and try again. Thanks

Thank you! This was super helpful. I recently bought this mixer model for home karaoke use, but was unclear on a few things. I feel confident using this mixer now. (btw the latest version is even better with combined XLR/Line inputs and individual 48v buttons for all 4 channels, an Aux send knob for each channel, separate EFX and Aux send 1/4" outputs in the send/return area, and they moved the phones output to the send/return area, so all 4 are in a block together, with the phones fader knob moved to where the phone output is on your version, plus a couple other changes.)

You should use the PFL solo button to set gain using the metre

Much nicer than the one I bought used for more $ by a different make starting w/ a Y . I might have to pick one up ,and thanks for the lesson . I did not get much out of the manual from mine .

For a beginner, that looks like a good board for learning, and/or small gigs. It gets you started for $117! I do think it would be better/more complete and useful if it had compression. It's 100% better than what we used back in the day, just a volume knob!! LOLOL Good explanation Sean!! 8) Peace --gary

Do you normally run into a mixer when recording a video without music? Like you and Andrea talking, for example??

Comment: With regard to the eq settings (around min 3) I have heard different things, and thus documentation might help better understand. Rather than "thinking" turning the highs (etc.) "up or down" from "flat", think of it taking away frequency from flat or adding frequency to flat. Thus, I think add or remove ... from flat. Am I on track? Pun intended.

Thanks that was useful. I’m learning to use a mixer. Someone mentioned to me about setting levels so that you don’t redline - could you explain or say something about that?

Something for everyone. Since I only use Solo in recording sesh, I didn't notice that it only affects the headphone monitor.

So I really liked this presentation and explanations, but this particular model might be a bit much for an old guy dicking around in his spare time. Also looking for a wide range of guitar tones. Some drum tracks would be nice but I can use my Yamaha keyboard for that if I have to. But I like to do a chord progression with my acoustic and lay some lead on top with my electric (some delay, compression, bit of fuzz) and maybe some "strings" with my keyboard AND then spice up my vocals (since I ain't Ed Sheeran). Save it all to mess with later or output to my PC.
