The city I live in had a viscose factory and I had no clue that it was a fabric. Thank you for your wonderful explanations of the various viscose fabrics!

I love these fabrics I haven’t sewn with many viscose materials but your explanation of the content of the fabric is very helpful.

Thanks so much for this ! I have been a little scared of making garments with the lighter weight viscose fabrics, but feel that I can give it a go now! 🥰

Absolutely! We recommend using a microtex needle as well :) Harriet has written up a blog post in case you would like even more info on it. Jenny sewmesunshine.co.uk/blogs/sew-me-sunshine/what-is-viscose-dressmaking-fabric

Hello, I’m not familiar with picking out fabrics. I will be starting to sew, so this was very helpful. Only thing is, I don’t know if they stretch, or how much a fabric stretches. Thank you for all the information!
@SewMeSunshine3 жыл бұрын
Hi Belinda, if a fabric has any stretch it will be in the description along with the amount of stretch it has. If a fabric doesn't have any stretch it will not be listed in our description. How exciting you're starting your sewing journey! If you're not sure what a fabric is like, please feel free to order swatches. Jenny

Hi, do you know where I can purchase Modal and Viscose as a fabric or where I can look at samples of the fabric? I’m in London. Look forward to hearing from you.

Great informative video again Harriett 👌😁...got to love a viscose 💝. I love them all but partial to a viscose jersey to make short versions of the Closet Core Ebony.. I have a bit of an obsession I think 😉. Might have to browse your website again 😁😘

I have a cute little RTW jacket that I'd like to have a go at copying. I have a pattern that recommends 'stable knits' among other fabric suggestions, mostly wovens. Would you say viscose ponte di roma is a stable knit?
@SewMeSunshine2 жыл бұрын
Hi Liz, yes we would say viscose ponte di roma is a stable knit :)

9 months later from post question, but what is the tropical looking mint fabric on the roll behind you in the beginning of the video? It has navy palm trees and fish? in primary colours and looks very 1940s. I checked your shop and instagram and google reverse image search to no avail. Was this deadstock?
@SewMeSunshine2 жыл бұрын
Hi Geri, that was indeed an ex-designer deadstock fabric! 💛

Hi, Love love love your videos, learnt lots as I always do. I find it difficult to choose any one fabric, I like working with Ponte de Roma and loved the blue one you showed, also the mint colour way of the bamboo jersey was gorgeous. Bamboo jersey only came to my attention a few months ago, it’s beautiful fabric and really nice to work with. Thanks for brightening up a very rainy day here in Staffordshire. ☔️☔️🌂🥰
