Everything You Need to Know Going into High School *from a graduate*

My freshmen year sucked and trust me when I tell you these tips follow them. 1. Have Positive mindset: if you don't like a subject don't accept that and start hating it but rather say it's not my favourite subject but I'll work hard so I might start liking it. 2. Making friends is easy: I remember being separated from my friends was nightmare come true but I swear it's easy, just try talking to new people and you'll not realize when you made friends but also don't forget your old friends. 3. You need to work hard a little more: high school is harder than middle school and don't take high school easy because your grades might drop just remember it's a class higher so you should increase your study time. 4. Participate :if you could because you will learn more and meet new people and make new friends. And I swear you will make memories that you will cherish later on. 5. Punctuality: I know how we dread doing homework but doing it the day you get will save you from those long night where you're are physically incapable of doing work anymore, mentally screaming at your stupidness and on the verge of mental breakdown but doing your homework because you have submission next day. 5. Live: I used to be so negative (which I still can be sometimes but I am better now) but seriously live a little and be positive. 6. Sleep: I used to be sleep deprived. My body cannot work and when I say cannot it literately cannot work without sleep but now I sleep like 7-8 hours and is on top of my work most of time and have good grade so sleep properly and don't think you're wasting your time because you will feel more energised. Just remember these and I swear your life will be better.

i’m a sophomore this year and honestly all of this is true. i had a binder for EVERY class last year and didn’t even use them that much. and it’s really heavy and u won’t have to use a locker as much if u just get a folder for each class

I'm a sophomore now and can confirm that this is all great advice (especially the get to know your teachers one, you may need a recommendation letter down the line, plus it just makes the class better)

Tips: 1. Don't expect it to be easy 2. It's as easy or as hard as you make it 3. Don't completely slack off your freshman year 4. Don't expect things just to work out 5. Get to know people in your classes - don't expect them to approach you first 6. Don't expect to have the same friends all 4 years 7. Join extracurricular activities 8. Don't do the bare minimum 9. Don't take AP classes just for the GPA boost (credit) 10. Always have food / money with you 11. Don't block the hallways 12. Chill on the school supplies 13. It's ok to get to know your teachers - some are pretty cool 14. Respect the hierarchy 15. High school isn't as scary as it seems * I hope this helped and good luck in school next year!!* 💕🌟

i will be a sophomore this year. i struggle a lot with school because i have anxiety, OCD, short term memory loss, and a form of dyslexia. it would take me 5 times as long as my friend would for an assignment, so i don’t have any time for any other activities. i’m so nervous, because i struggled as a freshman, and every year gets harder. and i didn’t take and probably won’t take honors and AP classes, because they will be too hard for me. i’m scared that i won’t get into a good college because of that. also i am with the students that tend to clack off and that’s not who i am at all. i will be a mess this year :( class of 2022!!
