Synthesize is a feature that allows player to upgrade parts level and rarity. In addition, when synthesizing the player can increase or switch/add different abilities as well

You can use up and down to increase the plastic used when upgrading by 10 instead of left and right which increase by 1.

What I’ve seen is that stacking synthesis skills on pieces is good and gives a decent boost when you level the skill up to level 30. However, the special buff chips you unlock later give boosts to the same skills at levels that are more than the entire suit combined. 200%+ HP, 42% Item Drop, etc. Early on, synthesis skills are the only way to make sure you have high levels of skills, but by endgame it becomes a minor optimization when you have god chips

Where do u go to do this how does this unlock ? I have done a few story mission this hasn’t unlocked if it’s in the assembly there is no option just to change weapon or color

its around the 2nd or 3rd chapter. and the leveling using plastics is around 4th. maybe.

@@mbower9641you probably figured this out by now but commenting for future people… I’m only on chapter 4 but so far: Every 5 missions is a new chapter eg. Chapter 2 starts at mission 6, Chapter 3 at mission 11. So on and so forth. Yes you see it in the mission and quest select screen. On switch, you have to press L/R to cycle through the chapters. I don’t know about other systems but if you read the whole screen (after getting at least 6 missions) you should see it
