Sobrang na-appreciate ko ang episode na 'to dahil mahilig nga ako mag Light ng Candle sa altar sa bahay and whenever I pray. I know I have a very good reason of doing it , hindi ko lang masyadong mabigyan ng mas malalim pang reason however, I feel good of doing it. Maraming salamat, Fr Dave, sa Paliwanag. Is lighting a candle biblical? Would you please give me a verse from the Bible that says the importance of lighting a candle? Just out of curiosity. Not trying to demean what the priest if preaching but I just to be sure that it is from the Bible and not base on human traditions. Thank you.

The person speaking claims to be God on earth because they believe they can forgive sin which according to the Bible is blasphemous buts another topic. This person must be preaching about lighting a candle in religious ways. In that context you must base it on what the Bible is teaching. You went on to say about KZbin and other things. You took things out of context. If this person isn’t a priest then I wouldn’t ask the question I asked.

I think this also refers to when the high priest go inside the most holy place the tabernacle to plea for the atonement of the sins of the people. I think this verse in the Bible is not in the same context as what the priest was preaching about.
